Seller sold a broken item and is not refunding

I purchased a Digital Ultrasonic Cleaner that arrived in new visible condition but was electrically broken.  I reported this to the shop and they promised a replacement. The replacement did not arrive.  I reported this to them and they offered to look into it. Nothing hapenned.  I messaged them again and they asked did I want a return or refund.  I said refund but they placed it on return status then closed the return.  I questione them again and got another reply saying they would look into it.  It has not been close to three months since the arrival of the faulty unit and I have no satisfaction from the seller.  My only conclusion can be that the seller are not reputable - do not buy from them.  I have no idea how to deal with this from here.

Very common delaying tactics from a Chinese seller, you are now past the time for an eBay dispute, but you can open a dispute in Paypal's "Resolution Centre". They give 180 days from the date of purchase.

Once you open it DO NOT close it until you've had the refund.

Also I am pretty sure you need to open INAD not INR in Paypal otherwise the seller will be able to prove postage to Paypal of the original item.

Someone please correct if I am wrong - padi ??    OP please wait for other responses

Hi, sorry to hear of your dilemma. I hope that you get things sorted.

If going down the PayPal claim route, you have a 180 day window  from time of  purchase. Please make sure you save all of your correspondence (as little as it may be in replies from seller or agent) and C&P some of it into the PayPal claim.

Is the seller / shop based in Australia?

Hope it goes well, sorry I could not get confirmation on my reply for you, but some responders just tend to wish you luck but have no real advice.

Good on you. Please make sure that you can C&P the important  dialogue from the seller. Make sure you escalate it in good time too.

I hope it works out for you.

As the item was received, the case to open is an INAD.
