Seller wanting to charge postage when free post was noted

What are the options for a buyer if the seller has listed item as free postage but has, within the description noted that postage can be arranged.

We won the item and of course seller wants $$$ for postage (approx. $30);

Tricky to pay seller via paypal because only cost of item is requested.

I've never sold on ebay but I believe this seller has incorrectly listed item and it's become a pain!

Any thoughts?

Are you sure it's free post and not free pick up?

Many buyers see the free pick up thinking it's post but is pick up only, not postage.

If it's the season 3 DVD's, that's definitely free post and handling and seller should honour that. It's also clearly in the listing description in big letters.

I would simply pay the item amount only.

If it's the grill, that's pick up only and they say they can arrange postage if buyer wants, but that's at buyers cost naturally.

Sure....in the top right of listing it says 'free postage' and when I go into paypal..... it does only ask for the item cost.  Seller only worked out cost of postage after item was won.

I am ok to pay..... bit annoyed but hey??? We all make mistakes; I just don't think seller understands..... seller's email corro is quite abrupt and short/cold.

Just wanna pay and be done with it but.........not set up right.

mmm.........I'll just contact the seller and see how to arrange payment of post.  Live 'n learn, I guess.

Still a bug bear...even though you say it says 'pick up' (grill)....... I'm pretty adamant it stated 'free postage'......and it says it again when going into paypal???????

Don't get it 😞

If it is the grill they have offered free pick up in the listing and not free postage.

If you need the item to be posted then a postage charge will apply which the seller will need to add onto the invoice.

The listing has been set up correctly. No where on that listing does it state free postage.

Wow.........okay.

I'll just make contact with the seller and request they adjust the invoice for me.

Thanks to both of you who have responded so quickly.

🙂 I feel better about it now.

Cheers.
