Seller wants me to remove negative feedback

So I ordered something that wasn't delivered.

I followed the procedure after waiting a month or so for it to arrive

I received the refund quickly via eBay.

So far so good.

The seller sent me 5 messages in one day the first one saying "In fact, the item sent by courier was damaged due to difficult weather conditions."  followed by 4 pleading messages asking for me to remove the feedback, which simply said that the item had not been received, and I got a refund anyway.

So was I wrong in leaving a negative?

I WAS going to re-order from this seller, but they've sent me 2 follow up PMs today asking me to remove the negative feedback (before I re-order)

I've never had to do this previously (I don't think I've EVER left negative feedback), and I've tried to find the feedback on the seller's page but can't find it to modify or remove it.

Since they have been asking me multiple times, I'm inclined to NOT buy again from them nor remove the feedback even if I could find it.

Any advice welcome.

Seller wants me to remove negative feedback

I will just chime in with what has already been said to add

It sounds like you don’t believe the seller when they say the item was damaged so

Why buy again from a seller who you have already negged once, and who it sounds like you think they are lying and who asked you to remove that neg?

Seller wants me to remove negative feedback

Absolutely don't buy from them again and under no circumstances change your feedback. It was well deserved.

Let's unpack what happened to you.

You paid for an item and waited almost a month before you opened an ebay claim for not receiving the item.

At no point before that had the seller contacted you about any problem or suggested giving you a refund.

Now the seller is snivelling to you to change your feedback because after all, you got the refund.

No, no you didn't, you didn't get a thing till you opened an ebay claim.

It could be that the seller has had your negative removed because you mentioned you made an ebay claim, I don't know.

I have seen a lot of other buyers say similar in feedback (to other sellers) but from what i have read, it is against ebay policy so could be a cause for removal, which is a shame as this seller well deserved the neg.

Let's face facts here, the seller sure knows how to message you, he bombarded you with messages after your feedback. If he is so competent at messaging, where was the message about any delay or problem with the item? There wasn't one. This guy was hoping the 30 day limit would pass and you'd just miss out on the chance for a refund.

I can see from your feedback that you are usually a very positive buyer, there really isn't any logical reason for anyone to block you because even when things aren't quite 100%, you have often given positive feedback regardless.

This is off topic but can I just say-be very careful what you buy from Chinese sellers. I couldn't help see you gave a positive to a Chinese seller for an electrical item that you wrote may not have been 100% to spec.

Coming direct from China probably means it has not passed Australian safety standards. If anything happens, a fire etc becasue it is faulty, you may not be covered by insurance. Better to buy anything like that from an Australian store.

And if a seller ever really does the wrong thing by you, as this present seller did, always be willing to give a neg as it helps other buyers to have an honest review. Don't worry about them blocking you, they may or may not, but that seller is a drop in the ocean, ebay is full of other sellers who are as good or better.
