yes payment was via paypal ..I was sure I was in the right or had the right to refuse paing more I just wanted somone elses ideas thanks guys

Firstly and very importantly, don't reply to them outside of the ebay messaging system. If this goes to dispute only communications through ebay messaging will be viewed.
Secondly, don't reply agressively, stay calm, reply through ebay's messaging system that you believed you had paid all that was owing and are really looking forward to getting your item in time for Christmas.
Before taking it further await their reply.

It very clearly says free postage and while buyers can make offers conditional sellers cannot alter the terms of the listing at the time of accepting a best offer.
Unless they sell on another id they are very inexperienced and haven't received feedback for more than 2 items and the last one was back in 2010!
Just send them a polite email saying that you are sorry if they thought they could add postage when accepting a best offer but that is not the case and you made your offer on the basis of the total price so expect your item to be posted asap.
I hope you paid with Paypal!
