I recently won an item (Midsomer Murders: The Complete Tom Barnaby Case Files Seasons 1-13) only to find that the seller has made it impossible for me pay. This is the only one on ebay and is located in N.S.W
I then got a message telling me I could only pay with bank deposit. They said I could pay pay with paypal, but I would need to pay approx $12.00 extra to cover the fee's. Taking the dvd set from $280 to $292
I message the seller and said I was not willing to pay the extra $12.00, the seller is now giving me the silent treatment.
I am happy to cancel, but I am sure they will wait and put in a non paying bidder aleart.
Any advise?

Don't cancel anything, if they send a cancellation request refuse iit as they deserve to have to pay the final value fees.
Re: Can't you get to an actual bank and use your credit card?
Not a good idea, making a payment over the counter at a bank counts as a cash payment so no card protection available.

they have to accept paypal PayPal for the item and postage.
If you don't recieve the item do a paypal, or money back gaurantee.
then leave appropite feeback eg sellerID ask to pay by a less Secure payment method . ( give low stars with feedback and they will get a defect.
you can also contact eBay to report this under help and contact they may be able to advise you.
Sellers are only allowed to charge whats on the listing. price + postage.
and should have factered in ebay and paypal fees.(about 17%)

Thanks for your advise, but
the problem is that the seller has blocked me from making payment.
It comes up in red with : One or more of the items below can't be purchased because the seller has not specified postage costs to the location selected.
So I can not go any further. It is either pay with bank deposit or nothing at this stage.

So make a bank deposit using your credit card.
The listing did state that payment was to be bank deposit
It is free postage

I only have funds in my pay pal account, also, i will not be covered by buyer protection if I pay with bank deposit.
I do not have internet banking.
They are breaking the rules not me.

No rules are being broken.
Can't you get to an actual bank and use your credit card?
It is one of ebay's protected payment methods
If you don't get the item, then you can do a charge back on your credit card

If a seller has the paypal prefered logo on their listing and then refuses a paypal payment then there has go to be something wrong.
As for paying into a bank account using a credit card, you have to own one first.
I think it is odd that of the many items I have purched on ebay why should one be different. I buy, I pay with paypal, as recommended by ebay, I set it all up for what?
To be told I can not use it.

As mentioned on another thread, seller uses paypal for overseas buyers,
so is compliant.
Their preferred method of payment for Australian buyers is bank deposit.
The listing stated that, so you should have been aware.
Maybe asked questions before bidding

Stawks, if the seller offers paypal they have to accept it from any/all buyers no matter where they are.

Well butter me on both sides and call me toast!
I thought that it was just one of the preferred payments,
forced on us by ebay
Not obligatory.
