Sellers dont say they cant ship to PO??

When I buy stuff, I check all of the postage details ect, no where does it say they don't deliver to PO boxes. I even check there original site ect, then when I click commit to buy it says they don't post to PO boxes? **bleep**... Now I have random items I've committed to buy (they're all cheap big company stuff, so I'm not causing any pain) but sellers don't make it clear that they don't ship to PO's??? I'm new to ebay, is this my fault or the sellers?

A lot of overseas sellers, particularly Chinese sellers, will not post to a PO Box.   And sellers who send by courier delivery cannot send to a PO Box as couriers cannot dliver to them.

Just because you are buying "cheap big company stuff" it does not mean it is not causing pain to the seller....they will still be charged fees, as well as the time taken to list.

Re: Sellers dont say they cant ship to PO??

How hard is it for them to put that in the description? I've seen other sellers do it. I'm a good customer ready to pay, if its not there fault its ebays fault for having it set out so badly. If my primary post adress is a PO box it shouldn't let me commit to buy. So I'm expected to guess if I can buy something or not? Now I'm supposedly in the wrong for not paying. There needs to be clear "No PO box shipping or something". Its very unprofessional. Also how is someone new to ebay supposed to know this?

Re: Sellers dont say they cant ship to PO??

I have read about issues like this on previous threads.  I seem to remember a suggestion to include the physical street address of the post office where the PO box is located.  Check with your PO if this is an option.  May help to get around those sellers who will not post to PO boxes in Australia .......

Re: Sellers dont say they cant ship to PO??

Thanks for the replies, I understand that some places just don't ship to PO boxes, I'm okay with that, but something should tell me before i have to commit to buy. It seems silly and backwards that i have to commit to buy before i can find out if it can be shipped here. So it looks like I'm going to have to message every seller that decides not to make it clear where they ship, soo much drama. I wish sellers would make it clear if they can post to POs or not, or at least ebay add a permanent place on the description for it. Anyway my account will probe get suspended or something for the stupid incompetence of the site.

Re: Sellers dont say they cant ship to PO??

Your account will not be suspended if you handle this properly.

Message the sellers and ask if they will consider posting to a PO Box or if not, will they cancel the sale.

If they do send you a cancellation request you should accept it promptly and that will be the end of it.

If they will not cancel the transaction and open an unpaid item dispute you should ring ebay and tell them that the seller does not post to post office boxes.  They should remove any strikes as it is not your fault.

Are you sure the OP is actually a real member?

Given the ID?

Well according to his profile he has been for 10days as far as I can see.

Even if it is a guest ID I can't see that it should be treated any differently as far as strikes go.

It seems to be becoming somewhat of a problem with sellers not saying they do not post to PO boxes until after the buyers have committed to buy.  It does need to be addressed IMO.

Re: Sellers dont say they cant ship to PO??

Yeah I am a real account, I set it up in a hurry and this was the default name I got. I don't have a computer at my place atm, so I have limited time to sort stuff out ect (I have to drive to a computer) I'm using the forums on my old phone, it's pretty painful. Yeah I guess I'll have to get back on an email sellers ect. I'm hoping ebay do something about it, because I'm not to good with online shopping and stuff, I'm fairly new to it all. This just seems like it could be avoided easily if sellers said they don't post to PO box, or if ebay told you before you click commit to buy. I appreciate the replies guys, I feel a little better about it now, I was pretty annoyed at first when I got emails saying my account could be suspended ect.
