When selling I have ALWAYS given feedback when the customer pays for the item. The quicker they pay the better the feedback. AS IT SHOULD BE.

When buying how ever I have found a lot of sellers do not leave feedback until you leave them feedback. Is this GOOD practice? I don't think so, in fact it causes me to give poorer feedback than I may have originally as I class this activity as bad customer relations in the 'seller's communication' area. As a rule I start asking why I had not received any feedback after four to five days, then if I do not receive a reasonable answer and immeadiate feedback the seller loses points. As a majority of postal times from sellers average at least 7 days I usually wait that long before "reducing" the stars on communication. Then every four days they lose another.
Today I contacted a seller asking "why?" on an item 320731808127 purchased on the 9th of May and received this reply:
"Dear robert_053,
Hi
thank you for your information.
our system work that when customer leave me positive feedback.
the system leave him positive also.
please leave me first.
miranda"
to which I have replied:
Hello Miranda,
That is very rude.
I order and pay for items straight away and so I expect positive feedback STRAIGHT AWAY!
What YOU are doing is extorting good feedback from customers so they will get good feedback too.
IF you had checked my members profile page you would have discovered that this is a particular "HATE" of mine.
It also causes those sellers who do it to LOSE 'points' when it comes to me making my assessment.
To me that is a "failure for proper seller's communication"

NOTICE TO SELLERS!When I purchase your product and Pay immediately, I EXPECT feedback immediately!! Should you delay feedback, until I receive the item and give YOU feedback, you WILL receive LESS STARS in communication the longer you delay!

Do YOU think I am right in doing this?

Forgot to add the last bit of that propsal and that is once feedback leaving period is up then hidden feedback becomes visible, whether left in return or not. Point being feedback cant be influenced by that left by other member, nor held to ransom

Well I have the perfect examply of why sellers don't like to leave feedback before receiving it. My first neutral ever received states "There was no belt" now I refer twice in the first line of the listing to the missing belt, there are 7 large clear photos with not a single one showing a belt. And I offer full refund for purchases.
My buyer has not contacted me at all before leaving this feedback and yes I left feedback first. I'm just glad I don't leave glowing feedback for buyers who don't communicate with me ๐

GEEEZ what a load of hassles over feedback ๐ฎ
Is it all worth it?
I don't care if a seller leaves FB for me or not, and I decide upon what FB I'll give them, if any, based upon who things work out with them.
After all, isn't that the way it's supposed to work?

Since when was feedback anything other than a democratic choice? NO VOTE here, there is no category to vote in.

Feedback is voluntary, not compulsory. This tool is already misused. So, to request feedback from the seller is totally not on. Also to feel that the feedback should be left just because you have paid, (as you are suppose to) is a sign that you are misinformedand and acting upon your emotion and not logic. Most sellers will leave feedback once the feedback has been left for them, so they could leave appropriate feedback themselves. The feedback detailed seller ratings and how quickly someone leaves feedback have nothing to do with the general sellers communication. And exactly what do you mean by waiting for a 4 days, or longer and then taking stars off for communication. Well, do not bother explaining it, I do understand, I am just dumbfounded. How would you feel if this rating system (on communication and payment) was available for the seller, as well as the option of leaving negative feedback? I shall think it would make you think twice about contacting a seller and asking them to leave you feedback.
