The high bidder has probably spotted something that increases it's value which was unbeknown to the seller.

I'd pay $5k+ if there was a genie in there.... Smiley LOL

I thought that genies lived in a lamp,blush-1.gif give_rose.gif

Sorry, I don't have anything that's actually constructive to contribute Smiley Embarassed, but I am curious to know if that particular piece is actually that valuable, and why.

The scroll work seems to be more intricate then others so maybe it could be the same as antiques where the

craftsman that made the item increases it's value?,(the bidders may have been made aware of it due to the

price increasing dramatically so they did some research to see why),Who knows.gif

Well Aladdin's supposedly did, but  from memory that's just because it's what he happened to be trapped in... I imagine a genie that's been in in a coffee pot for a while would be exactly like Disney / Robin Williams' version, so it'd totally be worth $5k if it did have one. ๐Ÿ˜„

All magic comes with a price.

I don't like to just rub strange things on the off-chance of a few wishes granted.

A bikini massage parlour just opened on the main road near me - I suspect it happens every day  Smiley Embarassed Smiley LOL (Not with / to me, mind, I'm not much of a rubber / rubbee).

I'd just like the company of a (freed) hyper genie for a lil' while. ๐Ÿ˜„

It appears that the auction has been pulled prior to its completion and there is no record of the listing having ever existed.

I'm wondering if it was removed by eBay for some unspecified reason, or whether the seller had it professionally valued due to the incredible interest being shown and realised that he'd make considerably more at a specialised auction house instead?

I guess we can speculate all we like but we'll probably never know for sure.

It must have been pulled by ebay...they are the only ones who can make a listing completely disappear.

If the seller had ended it there would be a record somewhere.
