Should I be worried if the seller hasn't posted item yet after 4 days?

So recently, I purchased a mouse for $78.90 including shipping. The product costs $69. It's RRP is $90. On ebay, I see that the listing prices average about $80. The estimated delivery was on the 12/10/2017. It's 14/10/2017. Should I be worried? And did I get scammed?

PS.  Maybe differant differant between a buyer and a seller? As a buyer useing the GSP I am checking daily. If I was to sell.... I know I would not follow as close.

To be honest, you are a seller's worst nightmare.  Why would you need or even want to check the tracking every day?

I buy, I pay and then I wait patiently for my package to arrive.  I never go looking to see if a parcel has been marked as posted and I never look for a tracking number unless I feel a parcel is taking too long to arrive.  I usually find that just looking for the tracking makes it arrive the next day.

Have you ever heard the saying "a watched pot never boils"?  Looking at the tracking on a parcel does not make it arrive any quicker.....all that does is make your blood pressure go up by watching your parcel inch ever closer....they don't call it snail mail for no reason.

Some time ago I started tracking my parcels just to see what the boardies were talking about.....I very soon got bored of the whole time wasting exercise and stopped doing it.  The parcels did not arrive any quicker so why bother?

I would think sellers have worse nightmares than a buyer following their tracking - buyers wearing clothes for an occasion and then returning them, switching items and returning them etc.

I check my tracking every morning to see if I need to go in to the post office to collect anything - if that makes me a seller's worst nightmare so be it!

People need a tracking number so they know their item won’t get stolen. Also if someone wants to check their parcels update it’s non of your concern. For you it’s time wasting and for others it’s not. I like to know where my parcel is because I find it exciting, definitely not frustrating. I feel safe knowing it’s not lost and I feel safe knowing I can control once it’s near my area where I’d like it to be located (if I’m busy with appointments and such). Stop being rude, you know what a buyers worst nightmare is? A seller who give you a tracking number but the item hasn’t gone anywhere and they keep making excuses they’ve sent it when reality they’ve kept the item and your money too until the whole 30days have gone past and you have to wait for your money to go back in your bank account and realising the seller used you as a bank loan because the seller can’t save their money.

The person you are replying to is not the person who posted the original comment

They have also passed away a few years ago, and the post was from 2017

You have no idea what sellers do as a general rule so stop attacking a person who has died , six years after they commented because you don’t like factual information

There is so much wrong it what you have said to a 6 year old post.

How do you know if a seller hasnt sent an item,  Australia Post may not have scanned it,   or scanning has not being updated, which is a very common issue.

And as for you having to wait 30 days,  that is just rubbish,  you only have to wait for the EDD date to have passed.

Go back and wait another 6 years

@waveyb-99, this is an old thread, long since buried in the cemetery of old threads, lying undisturbed since 17 Oct 2017 — until you posted six years later purely (it seems) to chastise a much-loved member who has passed away.

No doubt a moderator will be along to lock this mouldering thread.

Before posting on a thread that you’ve unearthed by using search terms, perhaps you could take a glance at the date of the last post (top right of the post)… and avoid turning dead threads into zombie threads. Most old threads contain no longer current information or deal with a topic or situation that is no longer relevant in a context that no longer applies.
