I have sent seller a question in regards to doing a “buy it now”
for some eBay items that were listed – auction format
The seller responded with the price, which I thought
was a bit expensive and decided to wait until the end of auction and bid
on the items. 10 min prior to auction ending I tried bidding and was rejected.
Items did not sell and I contacted the seller t see if they could relist it as
a “buy it now”. I received an answer earlier:
“Shortly after receiving your message in regards to “buy it now”
I have took the liberty of looking at the feedback that you have left for others
and was less then impressed – out of 12 pages of feedback that you have left for others there are 9 with between 2 – 3 negatives on it - 27 negatives left in under 2 years.
I feel that most of the issues at hand could have been resolved and being a buyer as well as the seller myself have certain views on how I like to go about conducting business with my buyers. Your flippent and aggressive remarks
are not my “cup of tea”, so I have blocked you.
Maybe you could learn how to communicate a little better instead of
resorting to a negative feedback option at the drop of a hat.
Good luck“
This is outrageous so, should I report them to eBay?.

I only leave negatives (as many as I have) if they are deserved - if items never arrive, or are not as described.
I may not be any good at resolving problems, or communicating and do try to do things by the book.
I do not like when seller assumes that I may leave the a negative and blocks me based on
the feedback left. It is true that in the same token that I may not like it, but can see that they are protecting themselfs.
I appreciate good advise that I was given.

Hi capital,
You can report the seller all you like, as they haven't done anything, they were not rude, didn't hurl insiuts your way, there is nothing that Ebay will have to reprimand them for. Ultimately, it is their right (same as it would be yours if you were selling anything) who do they want to deal with.
But your own account may come under closer scrutiny, all the negs you have left looked into.
I must admit it's an unsually high number of them - I haven't left a single one in 11 years!
You may have had a good reasons in every case, but I suspect not.
As negs are reserved only for the worst shonks - surelly you didn't deal with that many of them!
Anything else can be sorted out if there was a problem if you gave the sellers a chance - and you rate them not so much on the faulty item - but on the assistance they've provided afterwards.
Someone who will not lift a finger to help you obviously is not in the same category as someone who will do everything for you once they know that something was amiss!
If you find a fault with something that you buy in a normal shop and take it back and behave in a way that would crucify them - like leaving a neg for a seller - they would most likely call security, kick you out and never let you in again.
That is not the way to approach anyone - and expect them to then do something for you!
In the future - the best thing to do would be to respect people's rights - we all have them in this country, and if you do get something faulty sort it out with the seller first - you will most likely be very pleasantly surprised!

So you try to do things by the book?
My book actually suggests contacting the seller if there is a problem with the item or if it does not arrive. I find it is a system that works well and rarely results in me having to leave less than positive feedback.
Your Private feedback is a very good reason for sellers to be wary of all of us who have Private feedback....the difference is that you are trying to hide something.

This is not the account that the feedback is left from - so the suggestion that it is being private for that reason is wrong.
This is my husband's and mine joint account and he prefers to keep it private because of the things that he sometimes buys!
I have already posted all the negatives that I have left and have nothing to hide.

Yes, yes you should!
Many of the eBay employees have been adversely affected by the recent tragedies in the Phillipines. I am sure that many of them and their collegues would appreciate something that will give them a real belly chuckle and make their lives seem a bit brighter, if only for a few minutes. However I strongly suspect that your report of this seller for these reasons will be a gift that keeps on giving and provide them (and us) with many many hours of amusement.
Please come back and relay to us their repsonse.
That would just seriously ramp up the entertainment value.

@2capital wrote:Thanks. I understand the logic of saving myself from buying from this seller.
I don't quite get the vibe bit. I buy items because I need them, or like them, not because of the vibe.
I can not report someone based on the vibe and apparently the language is not breaching any rules.
As for the rest I'm open to good advise as some years back was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome.
and may I ask what you having a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome has to do with this scenario?
Wasn't the "vibe" something to do with The Castle?
I have a pretty good idea of what Asperger's and other diagnosis' along the ASD Spectrum entail and how it does and can affect people's communication and interpretation abilities, so I am interested now in understanding how you believe that Asperger's has affected this and previous transactions and communications.
I don't understand, but I would like to try and see it from your pwerspective.
