Should I report the seller based on their rude response, what do you think?

I have sent seller a question in regards to doing a “buy it now”

for some eBay items that were listed – auction format

The seller responded with the price, which I thought

was a bit expensive and decided to wait until the end of auction and bid

on the items. 10 min prior to auction ending I tried bidding and was rejected.

Items did not sell and I contacted the seller t see if they could relist it as

a “buy it now”. I received an answer earlier:

“Shortly after receiving your message in regards to “buy it now”

I have took the liberty of looking at the feedback that you have left for others

and was less then impressed – out of 12 pages of feedback that you have left for others there are 9 with between 2 – 3 negatives on it - 27 negatives left in under 2 years.

I feel that most of the issues at hand could have been resolved and being a buyer as well as the seller myself have certain views on how I like to go about conducting business with my buyers. Your flippent and aggressive remarks

are not my “cup of tea”, so I have blocked you.

Maybe you could learn how to communicate a little better instead of

resorting to a negative feedback option at the drop of a hat.

Good luck“

This is outrageous so, should I report them to eBay?.

I have given a couple negs over my time on ebay and the reasons are,

1- A seller organised a pick up time for me to get my item and didn't turn up then organised another time and didnt show again.

2- A seller sold me an item that was ment to be new in box and it was not. The reponse I got was all in capitals( yelling) and very rude. I had to go through paypal

3- A seller sold me a broken i phone when I contacted them they said it was there friends and to bad they have taken the money out of paypal.

I think that it is best to contact sellers and it is hard when you have aspies my daughter is the same she sees things in black and white and her words can come across as harsh but she doesn't mean any harm she is a very nice person. I am guessing its the same with you.

These boards are a great way to check. If you have a problem with an item ask people what they think. You will get different opinions but you can decide which ones to take on board.

If I was you I would start fresh  with a new account, and hopefully you will have better experiences.

Thats a bit harsh. Did you read all the posts. The op has expressed that they will think about things in the future and seek advice from there husband as she has a medical condition that can make it hard to understand the social side of contacting sellers and feedback.

I think if the op replied with stuff you all I'll keep neging people fine but as someone shows they are learning from there past experiences I would be giving them a break now.

Smiley Tonguenothing worse when you list an item for auction format and someone asks for a buy it now price its usually an insulting offer anyways. As for blocking people it would be nice to get the heads up on bad buyers and block them in advance lucky you brought attention to yourself and saved the seller the  hassle of dealing with you....I will block you too now just because.....

When you buy from a shop in your home town and there is a fault with the item, do you post a big red notice on their doors to tell all customers or do you go back in and ask them to look at the fault and find a solution for the problem.

Why not give Ebay sellers the same chance? Sometimes sellers overlook things. We are not perfect - only human.

Pretty sure that is a breach of ebay rules.

Entirely the seller's call.

10 min prior to auction ending I tried bidding and was rejected.

I cannot understand why you are surprised the seller blocked you and to contact them again after finding they did not want you involved in any transaction with them was beyond rude.

I guess they won't be the only seller who will put you on their special list.

If you don't like what I have said it is because I have a disability, arthritic hands, which sometimes develop a will of their own and type things without approval from me!

2capital you are seeing everything in black and white however on ebay and in many areas of life there is no black and white but many shades of grey.

If in the future you should encounter problems with sellers then please come here before leaving feedback  because often there are several processes to follow before the final step of leaving feedback.

You might be making very poor choices when it comes to sellers or you might need help with the wording of questions for sellers or maybe advice on starting a dispute.

Whatever the reason please come here before leaving negative feedback because we might be able to help you to get a missing item or getting an item replaced if not as described.

I from time to time read forums to get information and at times somewhat amused by the direction they take.

I have a couple of points often a bit overlooked.

1. this is a discussion forum and as such I believe that it is not exclusively "seeking help from experienced EBayers", there is a FAQ for that.

2. the way I understood consumer law in this country, if an item is for sale one cannot discriminate against a potential buyer and not sell to that person, so being able to block is a privalege, with dubious legality.

3. Most importantly the Feedback system as I once understood it, was "without prejudice", so negative feedback was never only for extreme cases - it simply was at one end of a scale of an individual's perception, and therefore Negative feedback should actually be more prevalent to reflect more the real world.

4. there used to be a prevalent principal and indeed Government policy in our society, that "we must not discriminate against someone on the basis that they have complained"

having the above in mind OP's sometimes (often) are unjustly taken to task.
