I won a Bid on Item # 281550332218 yesterday 6th Jan. The Bid time was only 3 Days. Last night @ 5:30pm my Local PC Shop called to inform me that l did not need another Hard Drive for my Laptop. Problems were caused by Faulty Ram, so that explained why the Laptop would not Boot Up. ( Cheaper to Buy a Good 2nd Hand HDD on ebay, than from a PC Shop.)
Sent an email via ebay messages asking to cancel my Purchase PLEASE !!! I had not paid any money as yet to the Seller.
Seller has gone all quiet, so thought strange, yes l know, please do not say to me, l waited to long to check the Seller's Feedback.
Well, when l did this morning, yes, (after the fact), l got the shock of my life !!!!
People who have issues with Purchases with this Seller, the Seller refers to them as, "Thick Head", another who is a Buyer from Tasmania, is referred to as ...." Oh, l see you are from Tasmania, that explains everything."
Please check the comments made to other Buyer's of his products. I cannot believe the gall of this Seller.
I did not check his Feedback as he was in a Sydney, NSW. Location, with very High Feedback. ( my Fault for NOT Checking)
Have sent an explanation email to the Seller, at 0730 hrs. this morning, 7th Jan. l was very polite, and said l was sorry if l had caused a problem. l could not have been more helpful.
My fear now is that this Seller will wait for 4 Days to go past, and then sting me with a Non Paying Dispute. Am l covered under the New ebay Purchase Agreement, where l have the option to Cancel my Order/Purchase ?
As of 1900 hrs. this evening, l have sent a total of 3 ebay Messages to this Seller, .....No Reply, All has Gone Quiet. (zzzzzzzz)
Have l followed the correct procedure ??? Any thoughts, please ?????
Thank you, to the many ebayer's who have been in contact with me about the huge Bush Fires here. The glow at nigh makes it look a lot closer. Many heartfelt "Thanks" to the hundreds of NSW & VIC. CFS Boys & Gals who have come to our aid.
You make that age old Aussie mateship tradition, PROUD.

And yes I looked at item in question before writing my last post.
You purchased something on the basis of an assumption. That is you bought a replacement part for your computer, thinking that this would fix the problem only to find out it was something else, and as such, you no longer need it.
You purchased that item knowing the seller had a 30 day return policy.
However, knowing the seller allowed for change of mind returns, and before waiting for the seller’s response to your cancelation request, you, by simply looking at their past feedback, decided they wouldn’t allow the request, and therefore, on the basis of an assumption, decided to publically name and shame them vide these boards.
Finally, you are the one who initiate the topic. Therefore it is up to you to bring into exist those facts on which you want to base your argument. That is when formulating a response it is not up to me to ask if all the relevant fact in existence. Instead I have a right to assume they are in existence and to base my response on that assumption. That is, the fact that the seller had a 30 day return policy might have proved helpful to others when formulting their advice.
But as you asked the question, here's my solution.
Wait for the seller’s response. If they don’t, as you haven’t already paid that’s the end of the matter.
If they respond with a NO, remind them they have a 30 day returns policy.
If they continue to say NO, wait for them to put in a non-paying bidder claim and respond by saying “item no longer needed. Purchased cancelled in accordance with sellers 30 day returns policy”.

Thank you tall_bearded01, lt is hard to put every mention in here, and yes, harder for others (as yourself) to be able to give 100% accurate advice, if all the facts or points are not made known. l will remember, for next time.
However, l did not name the seller, nor shame the seller, we are not allowed to do that on these boards, l think you know that.
Any shame, would come from the Seller themselves, by comments they have left about their own client base.
Please read them yourself.
Putting all that aside, you have given good and thorough, sound advice, on what avenue l should take regarding my post.
For that l thank you very much. As of 1345 hrs. today, l have heard nothing from the Seller. There is no " This Seller is away on Holidays etc" posted on their page, so l am at a loss to know why all this silence. You have told me what action you feel that l should take, and l can assure you that l will carry it through to the letter. As you have suggested.
l appreciate your input, Thank You.

Bottom line is you bought so you should pay. You can ask the seller to cancel but many will not and who can blame them, they are under no obligation to do so. They may thing you deserve an unpaid item strike and many sellers would agree with them.
If they cancel then all well and good, if they don't then you should pay for it and then try to re sell it yourself to try and get your money back.

Athough technically correct you did put the item number up to call attention to the seller and trash his reputation. Only a couple of comments on there are not ideal, but I've seen alot worse. Seems he's had to deal with his share of numpties IMO

black*poppy, You have been around and on these boards long enough to know those that wish to help or give advice to op, always ask for an item # please. So l would appreciate it if you did not play double standards with me !!!!!
Would YOU like a Seller to refer to you as a "Thick head", or being from Tasmania, " Oh, that explains everything" ??? l do not think so.
Not very nice or professional, from a High Value Seller.
I do not intend to spend the rest of tonight trying to defend what l may or may not have done wrong. In my posts in the past if l have been wrong, l always apologised, for that.
Have been an ebayer as a Seller & a Buyer since mid 2009, l have 100% Feedback, which l know you would have already "checked" on that by now. NO DEFECTS, so l will stand by my own Feedback, and let that speak for myself.
I came here for advice, not smart comments. How you address other op's, on these boards goes a long way as to how others may view your ability to give fair, and constructive advice and help, as most ebayer's come here for assistance.
Thank you for your comments, they have been taken on board. May 2015 be a Good Year for you.

Just to clarify for all and black*poppy, l did not put the item number up to call attention to the seller and trash his reputation.
Even though you may have seen worse comments left by a Seller, that does not mean that l have or everybody has. You are assuming that notion.
I would like to think that you are professional enough, not to be alluring that l am a "numptie", or putting me in that so called category. Name calling on these boards, just shows the true intelligence of some persons.

sorry aussie, but you did call our attention to the seller. I went back and re-read your OP (my text in blue to show that you invited us to look at the seller's feedback given and you gave examples that directly call into question his/her reputation)

Thank you, l understand what you are saying, somehow l have a deep feeling that apart from one or two boarders here, the other comments have come direct from HIGH F/B SELLER'S themselves. Could be wrong, ,,,,,,,But l do not think so.
Having had contact with you in the past, l know of your creditability, so am not offended my your remarks. You are just calling it the way you see it, which is fine, point taken.
Hope 2015 is a good $$$$$ value year for you, cheers.

THANK YOU !!!! To all who have assisted with advice on my post, and problem with l unfortunately caused for myself.
I have the outcome, which is what l came here for, thank you. Not wanting this post to sink into inter-personal remarks about other posters, l feel it better to conclude this post here & now. Those that have needed to advise, or make a comment, have done so.
All your comments have been taken on board, and l wish you nothing but the Best for 2015.
I will not be following up on any further posts on here. "Thank You."
