Unable to complete transaction

Hi I bought an item off a seller last year and it was sent to my P.O Box as we do not get mail deliveries to our residential address. I bought another of the same item a little over a month ago and found that they do not send to P.o Boxes now. I had to request a total ( I did let them know that i had previously ordered the same item without a problem it coming to my P.O Box ) and have them okay the delivery to my P.O Box before i could continue to Paypal to pay for it. It was sent without any problems so i wanted to purchase more of what i had previously ordered so i bought another three of the same item , again on trying to pay i was informed that they do not post to P.O Boxes, so i again requested a total invoice like last time.. Only this time i have sent a few requests and have not heard anything back. It has been 6 days since i put the order through but i am not able to pay for it until the seller gives the okay. I did try to cancel the order but couldn't as i'd already committed to buying it.  I don't know what to do as I don't want to get into trouble for non payment.

Thanks for your time

Re: Unable to complete transaction

As it will be delivered by Australia post it has to come to our P.O Box as they do not deliver to our residential address. I have bought from this great seller before and had no problems. The last item i bought was when i noticed that they don't deliver to p.o boxes any more, but all i had to do was request a total and ask them to okay the delivery which they did then i could pay for it. This time however they haven't responded to the 4 requests for invoice that i have sent since purchasing on april 13th. I suppose i am more worried about getting into trouble for not paying than anything else, as i have a clean record as far as my buying goes lol. It would be easy if i could give another address but as i don't know anyone where we have moved to i would have to give an address in another state then have it resent to me... which is a bit of a pain really ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Unable to complete transaction

I used to live in a town of 300. We didnt have a postie but I always used my street address and the folks at the PO held it for me.

I have moved to the big smoke now (Population 570) and we also do not have postie here. There were no po boxes available when I moved so again ....I use my street addy and PO holds it as if it were care of the post office. Let your PO folks know and I am sure they wont mind.

Re: Unable to complete transaction

hi, thanks for that. that would be so easy, only my residential address has one postcode and my p.o box has a different postcode as no boxes were available at the post office near our home. i have been told by the post office with the same postcode as our home address that they do not hold anything that is deemed undeliverable ie.. not able to deliver to home address. so the minute it hits the post office it gets sent straight back. I have also asked them to send anything on to our p.o and they wont do it. ๐Ÿ˜ž .. i'm not going to worry about it too much now, just hoping to cancel the transaction ๐Ÿ™‚

Maybe it will now let you purchase but you can't complete payment as that is the problem I had.

As far as I know, it has always allowed purchase if the seller has excluded PO box addresses, well, it has for the time I've had mine as my primary postage address (nearly 4 years) - I've never actually come across a block when I've tried to purchase unless I add the item to the cart (then I get told I can't complete the order because the seller doesn't send to PO boxes, but I can still BIN the same item the old way - if I do, sometimes I get a note mentioning the seller doesn't post to PO boxes before I confirm purchase, other times I don't).

The exclusion doesn't act as block in itself, since PO box is amongst the same exclusions as countries / regions, so unless a seller implements the block against buyers with a primary address they won't post to, purchase will always go through (same as it will if they exclude Australia, but don't activate the block) and you'll just be told to change addresses at the point of checkout because domestic postage can be calculated. As I've never been blocked from sellers who don't ship to PO boxes, I can't say for sure what happens if they both exclude and block (i.e. I don't know if any of the sellers I've bought from did both or not).
