What's the point of leaving Feedback if then they get deleted?!?

First time ever that I leave a negative review with pictures, to warn other users about this seller and within a day it gets deleted...

At this point, no more feedback for vendor ever again... Waste of time!

But that also mean no more purchases either, as it has got too hard to feel good and safe about doing transactions on this platform...

Good luck to everyone...

Totally agree. Get feedback deleted, spit the dummy.

Few of my buyers leave feedback, many are repeat buyers.

You seem to conflate feedback that you leave with purchasing. They are not connected except in your mind.

Well actually you have previously left a negative,  but hey memories do fade.

What did you say in the feedback,  often if you don't follow the guidelines it is justifiably removed.

You are right... I actually did forget about all those other negative review I have left...

All I said in the feedback was what the other two feedback above already had mentioned...

But I can see now, that I may have added some form of personal attack towards the vendor...

Things you say in the heat of the moment, I guess...

Re: What's the point of leaving Feedback if then they get deleted?!?

Leaving feedback will not 'keep you feeling good and safe'

You use the tools given to open and follow through with disputes where need

Do you look at feedback before you buy?

You admit yourself you made a personal attack on the seller, so why do you think you ought to be allowed to go against feedback rules/policy ?

eBay are not going to notice if you buy again or not

So you are going to deprive yourself from using an excellent buying platform, because you made personal attacks, and Ebay justifiably removed it.

Re: What's the point of leaving Feedback if then they get deleted?!?

I can understand your anger as I had a similar thing happen to me. I had added photos (this was before photos were being uploaded into ebay feedback but it said that feature would be starting shortly).

I never said anything in anger or made what i considered a personal attack on the seller. I told the straight out truth. I said the seller was registered on ebay with the description of being a seller, buyer and trader and what I had bought was described as brand new but was obviously a second hand trade and was not what was in the photos.

I had been puzzled by what I got till I went back and read their business description & the penny dropped as to what had happened as they were a shop, not a private seller.

Feedback deleted a few days later.

Like you, I was mad as I considered (and still consider) it to be really useful feedback for potential buyers.

The seller had obviously done the same I think to another buyer though I don't think that person realised what had happened, wondered if it was the post that damaged the packaging.

I was surprised that the seller took the trouble to get my feedback removed as a couple of other negs they had were more insulting or personal but I think the key is mine exposed a business practice & was potentially more damaging. That's probably why ebay removed it, on reflection.

The thing is though, it has not stopped me buying on ebay. The absolute key here your protection, your money. That is your priority.

In my case, I had no trouble winning an ebay claim for not as  described. The seller had to respond, the seller had to send through a paid postage label.

I consider the best revenge isn't actually feedback (feedback is a courtesy for buyers who come after you), it is getting the seller to lose money if they do the wrong thing. Hurt them in the hip pocket.

Best revenge ever.

So don't let this experience turn you off buying. Just check out sellers before you buy and if a purchase doesn't go well, open a claim. In all my time on ebay, I have had very few instances of it happening but these days if it does, you can get your money back.

Re: What's the point of leaving Feedback if then they get deleted?!?

More than anger it was sadness, considering that Ebay did suggested to me to leave the feedback that I thought it would be more appropriate for the situation...

Ebay did intervene and gave me the refund, but the point was that not at any stage, the vendor did take responsibility for his mistake... So I just pointed that out in the review...

I won't stop buying on Ebay, but it a PITA having to check every vendor ass to see if they are hiding something, like wrong location, fake free delivery, and all the other scams listed on Ebay...

It is getting harder and harder to buy in Australia from an Australian seller...

Still, life goes on...

PS

On a different note, Ebay has always been good to me and every time a vendor stuff it up, they were there for me, so other than the time lost in appeals, things have been good...
