I paid for and "purchased" an item before 5.30am. I got a message just under an hour later saying thank you.
More than FIVE hours later, I got a message saying the item is not available and saying they would help me to cancel.
This is unacceptable as it seems the item either did not exist or did but was sold to someone else AFTER I paid. (there has been no contact by the seller since to say what happened or on anything) and since the item is a battery charger and I had already purchased a battery elsewhere, I will not be able to use the battery now (and I would have gone elsewhere).
I am NOT going to request to cancel on principal
The money should have been refunded immediately to my account as cash so I could use it again.
I want to bring this up with Ebay (for them to examine if the same item WAS sold to someone else AFTER I paid.
This is not huge money but I am more likely going to have to consider it as theft.
I guess there is no way to contact Ebay over this yet?

Honestly 4channel, what is the point in these ridiculous quotations? You're spamming the page with multiple copies of messages that take up 5x the space of a normal quote and for what? Making it it difficult for everyone to read?
You harp on to others about showing courtesy - maybe if you showed a little yourself you might get some of that respect you're craving.
Interestiing that you strategically use the word spamming just as your compatriot use the term stalking . Wrong wrong wrong. And if you look, one mesaage is a dual reply.
I don't crave anything except that newbies and others be treated fairly but that's anorther issue for another day.

But that is exactly what you are doing - filling up the page with duplicate information (and a huge chunks of poorly formatted non-information) to the detriment of those viewing. It's not a strategic choice of word - it's the verb you are verbing!
Again, what is the point? You've been asked more than once by more than one, yet decline to offer a sensible reply.

Totally wrong and incorrect what you say. I am doing what many people do with the quote feature.
Spamming is incorrect deliberately chosen by you I believe!
Now, back the subject and with the edited section below, I'll reply to that.

Sellers fault, poor inventory management/ API not refreshing fast enough.
OP the seller has an automated message to thank you.
Then when the seller has actually logged onto his computer he is realized he is out of stock.
Great points. Not sure on how that can be improved but there's a probably a way. Improve that and people like the OP may not experience this. Stil happens now and then.

Not true.
This post, and the one I am quoting, shows the use of the quote function in replying to another poster.
What you have been doing is NOT the simple accepted use. In fact you are the only one doing it. So it would seem to be some sort of agenda on your part, as it certainly isn't standard procedure.

I have on various occasions replied two members on the same post.
No agenda davewill1964 aand please desist from your incorrect portrayal of me. You tried a similar thing on another thread. I just ask that honesty and honour please be your companions and not something else. You'll note that I attempted to bring this thread back on line.
OK, so back to the subject.
I still think that danieh_6 pointing out "Sellers fault, poor inventory management/ API not refreshing fast enough." is a good indicator of what happened to the OP.

It is not replying to two members that is being challenged, but rather your decision to include other elements of the page in quotes that at best makes posts difficult to read and at worst is breaking the formatting and causing display errors.
You ask for honesty and honour, yet won't offer consideration and consciousness - I implore you to be the change you wish to see!
Ok, now back to the subject.
How unreasonable it is of the OP to accuse their seller of theft when the OP refuses to allow a cancellation and thus the processing of a refund. It is nearly like the OP doesn't want a resolution but instead would prefer to agitate. A shame.

I disagree, buyer had a bad experience, they aren't happy, seller is selling a product not in stock. Put the buyer in an inconvenience now they have to wait for refund and repurchase another, buyer isn't familar with the workings of eBay, It's fair and Its warranted. I don't think he actually meant it and he is probably unaware about you can list items even if you don't have them. Give them some slack & stop witchhunting them, they have done nothing wrong.
It also doesn't seem like those other threads where a guy buys cheap stuff from china or complaining about negs removed. This is a bit different.

...
Over 200 feedback on an account that's 19 years old, and you think they're unfamilier with the workings of eBay?
It really sounds like a terrible seller, messaging OP back the same day "...and saying they would help me to cancel" - there's nothing worse than a communicative seller who is willing to assist - what a scoundrel!

Well yet again, another topic completely taken over by you
