When will eBay be contactable again on the phone?

Not sure about anyone else but I get very frustrated by the fact you can't talk to anyone at eBay. Everything is still chate's etc and you can't get anywhere. You ask for help or to report shody buyers and sellers and you get the usual rhetoric where as prior to you can disucss with a person, get excalated to someone rather than the usal this is the eBay policy and no one is avilable right now. As a business eBay needs to do more as there are still so many scammers on her who buy your products and then reneg or you win their auctions and they just suddenly cancel the transaction becuase it only went for a $1. More needs to be done to get rid of these sorts. Speaking to someone you got some more response, soometimes a credit as they understood the time wasted and lost revenue for yourself, but since COVID the same and just wondering with the vaccination program when will it start to get back to be able to call someone.

Hi, sorry to hear of your frustration. I hear what you say.

. If you really need to speak to someone on the phone then it can be done via the Ebay Chat service. You can use that to initiate a call from them.

The below C&P is from another thread and you can do it how it was done as explained in the post.

Hi tickford-13, I mentioned on this thread earlier on that a friend of mine got a phone call from eBay via "Live Chat". How it worked for him as I understand, he chatted with them and then ticked a box for a phone call. He obviously have his contact details and in about 20 mins, he received a phone call from a nice helpful chap. He said he had an Australian accent as well.

So I think going via the "Live Chat" is the only way. That brings up the opportunity to get the call, I'm sorry that I've forgotten what else my friend said. Was there a link given to click on via the live chat process that brought  him to where he could tick the box and give his phone number and  other details? Possibly that's how it worked.

BTW: I'll save those numbers you gave as they'll hopefully be in use again in the near future.

Cheers

At the moment on the bottom of the page this is what folkaa will see as it's "out of hours".

Need more help?

Chat with usWe're available from 8am to 8pm AET Monday to
Friday, and 9am to 7pm AET Saturday and
Sunday.

If someone chats between the hours they should be able to instigate a phone call to a nominated number. As I said, it took about 20 mins for the call to come. That was in addition to the chat time.  It may be quicker or longer.

Cheers

Hopefully you or others can get some satisfaction that way.

Anyway, more in response to your post, I think that this is an indication that they may get back to a more responsive state with phone calls being fielded by people working from home. The fact that one can get a call back after going through a couple of hoops indicates that there is a team of sorts to call people indicates a possibility of direct inbound calls at some stage.

Good luck.

I don't understand why you need to speak to eBay... unless you are lonely...idk

If A buyer does not pay you open the UPI & close it as unpaid.

What would you expect eBay to do?

If a seller cancels you leave appropriate feedback (which you have done) & move on.

What would you expect eBay to do?

When will eBay be contactable again on the phone?

If it is to find out why you can not purchase from some sellers - I can answer your question.

Or if the seller has cancelled a bid/purchase then I can answer that too -

1.  Sellers can restrict buyers if they have a 2 strike/s against thier account - and you do

2.  As soon as a seller see's the 67 bid retractions you already have - They will NOT want you buying from them

But thanks for posting here, because a LOT of other sellers will be adding you to their special lists, and in future you may find it even harder to purchase.

and I just love the Negative you left for a seller:
