I have been an eBay member since 2008 and am both a buyer and a seller. I have found that some sellers wait until the buyer enters feedback so as they can reciprocate. I don't feel that is fair for the buyer since he/she has done the right thing and paid for the purchase but if there is something wrong with the item or with the seller and the problem isn't resolved, the buyer's negative feedback to the seller could revert back. There was an instance with one of my sellers where after I had paid and received the item the seller was still waiting for me to leave feedback. When I left a neutral feedback and given my reason I got an attitude message and most probably a negative feedback.

Voluntary in the same way as being able to leave the cult camp. You know, that spiel...
"You're free to make your own choice and can decide not to leave feedback anytime *insert array of people who are staring at the person who has decided not to leave feedback, some who look imposing, others who look like you just stole their last $1 so you're all scared and guilty*
"But before you don't leave feedback, which is totally cool, let me tell you about all the benefits of leaving feedback and how it is not only the best thing for you, but the whole community. And just remember, the more feedback you leave, the more feedback you receive, making the whole world a happier place. You can contribute to heaven on earth right now, and all it will take is a committment to honesty, a pledge of love for
the leadertrading partnereBay, and alargesmall percentage of your weekly income...It's all about what you're comfortable with, and ultimately bringing LOVE to you and the community"
what? No Ninjas?

I haven't found any avenue to exchange my feedback for tangible goods, Which shows it's worth.
but if you get enough feedback, eventually you get a red star and that, my friend, is PRICELESS!

Dead set a fruit loop ... another one for my special list
.
I often wonder, do these people go the supermarket,
.
buys stuff
.
pay for their purchase
.
and then stand at the checkout and wait for the store manager to rush over and tell them, (and everyone in earshot), what a great customer they are because they paid for a purchase
.
You committed yourself to buy something, you are then committed to pay ...
.
that in itself is not reason for feedback ...
.
it is how the transaction finished is when feedback is determined ...
.
and by looking at the way you acted and comments left, you are lucky the ability to leave negs was taken away from sellers (and this case might just be an argument for it to be reinstated)
.
Grow up

Also, I would find those neutral feedbacks she/he left as insulting' - in fact the OP should realize that she/he might be reported for those comments & receive a smack from eBay. Using blackmail to make people leave feedback is 'just not on'.
I am a seller who leaves feedback after I know the buyer has received their purchases & if the buyer doesn't leave feedback how do I know they received the item?
With what has been going on with AP & their deliveries recently, we don't know whether the buyer has received their purchases. I had one buyer leave very late feedback saying it was very fast postage, but by AP tracking the item is still in transit.
The OP has also been put on my special list.

Basically - They want to see what you post first...in case you're not happy.
Sometimes people just forget,i usually just send them a msg and ask them to do for me(FB),what i have done for them %100 of the time they do.

Feedback is about the experince you had.
That is why sellers need to understand that even a refund is NOT gareened to get POS feedback.
I buy alot of vinyl, and i get sellers all the time sending me trash and when i call them on it,they offer a refund(this is also a scam called "quickfish" in the vinyl selling business)to insure they wont get NEG. But i know how the scam works and know people in the past who have used it.
The scam works like this: A seller just lies in the description(usually small details but important ones, that makes the item ALOT more desirable & valuable) and the buyer buys the item and the seller shipps item knowing there that %50 of people could not be bothered "returning goods and waiting weeks for their refund.%85 of their business is done this way.
The seller then offers a refund or %50 refund and will let you keep the item. The most important part is that NO NEG FEEDBACK is recorded for the scam to continue. It works very well if people DO NOT post NEG feedback.
There are legitamte reasons for this but not in this context.
