Why so many used phones being sold as new when they are Refurbished?

So many sellers that advertise as new, but are actually refurbished warranty returns from overseas.

It's false and misleading advertising but ebay allows multitudes of them.

I understand the volume of business is a good persuasion.

A friend of mine recently purchased as above.

He was shocked when I ran a utility that shows it was an AT&T 2 year old USA phone manufacturer based in Korea.

They are repaired and have new cases fixed.

It should say, As New.

I have stuck with Samsung smart phones because they are bomb proof. The amount of times they have been dropped screen down onto concrete, or the road is astounding. Not even a scratch, let alone a smashed screen. iPhones on the other hand, I don't know anyone who doesn't have a smashed screen. Mine regularly falls out of my pocket at work, on vinyl covered concrete. Every time it happens, the Apple owners gasp. The Samsung owners tell me to stop stuffing so much junk in my pocket.

Definitely, EBay needs to step up and be accountable for the sellers they support. I bought a necklace and it broke and lost. after 5 weeks, I'm taking ithe matter further. It's just not good enough.

This thread is about phones, not necklaces.

And if you buy Chinese junk, then of course it will break.

What has a broken necklace got to do with refurbished phones?

There is nothing that ebay will do for you if the necklace was received in good condition.   It is hardly ebay's fault that you broke it after 5 weeks.
