eBay wants item destroyed/disposed prior to ruling

Is it normal eBay is asking me to destroy and dispose of an item (counterfeit item in a MBG case) before a ruling has been made or a refund given? This request was sent within a few hours of me asking them to step in after no seller response.

Does this mean they have/will rule in my favour and refund? As it puts me in a difficult position if they want further info or opinion on the item.

I know a JP only assures of the signature to a particular statement but a JP will also make acknowledgement of an exhibited item to a statement included in a stat dec.

All the eBay stat dec is about is that I have to declare the item was seized and destroyed or destroyed by me. Jp just has to witness that.

Done and sorted now and refund for both processing in 24-48 hours. Not sure if they now go the seller for the money but I hope they do. Seller flatly denied items were fakes despite my asking during the auction and despite expert clarification and then tried to buy time by claiming to be ill in hospital (that's a new one).

While the being in hospital excuse is as old as the ark, sometimes that really does happen. Mr Tippy had an unexpected trip to hospital on Thursday morning. It was nearly midnight before we got home. I had 3 messages from buyers waiting for me. It could have resulted in a trip to the city and me unable to do anything about my listings for a few days (ending them, or whatever would be appropriate at the time).

Glad you got it sorted. Hopefully the seller knows now that it's not a good idea to sell fakes.

Sadly they still had multiple fakes listed. Lesson not yet learned I fear.

Awww, it's a capy! I have a capy on my Facebook friend list. He's really cool and is called Dobby. He's got his own pool and struts around like he owns the place. He treats his humans servents like garbage.
