Just a thought. If you didn't have any money in paypal and paypal then take the money from your bank account, it will be pending until cleared. Only when it clears, which can take up to a week or more, will it show as being paid on Ebay.
Check in paypal, click on your payment to bring up the details and see if it shows as being pending
