ebay -- company of REMOVED

Just prior to Nov 29 I had accidentally agreed to buy two flashdrives but when the seller refused to reply to my request to a single postage, I asked him to cancel the order. On Nov 29 and 30 the seller agreed to cancel. But ebay refused the cancellation and kept hammering me to pay the seller when the seller had already agree to cancel the order. A few days ago the item was removed from my cart. I decided to purchase a book and went to pay for it, but it also took out payment for the two flashdrives that weren't in the cart in the first place. Bunch of idiots and crooks. Notice they no longer have online chat for customer support and no phone number either. So you're stuck referring to its totally assholic referrals to its website FAQs, which are no help at all. This is how ebay shirks responsibility towards customers, passing the onus on to buyers and to a lesser degree sellers. Bunch of REMOVED run ebay who also cheat a country's tax system by not paying its full share of taxes. Mafia lot. Now I have to wait for the flashdrives to arrive and return them, and get this: the return print label was issues even before the seller had posted the flashdrives. **bleep** ebay!

They still have online chat support.

Go to the help page, scroll down to "contact us" and go through all the options until a live chat window appears (during normal business hours).

Your post is utter ranting and raving, unhinged rubbish.

For one, the option to chat is at the top of

every

single

page

As for the rest of it

Get over yourself

Go abuse eBay, they do not read here

Doh!   So you have accidentally bought the same items twice,  and expect the seller to be out of pocket for your mistakes.  Sometimes it pays to pay attention.

Online chat is still available and works perfectly fine (for most users anyway).

If you do indeed decide to return the items, pay attention.....(sorry I have decided not to tell you what to)

who knows, it may add significantly to your  negative ebay experience.

Welcome to the List.

You have quite a high feedback score but I think it is all for buying, not for selling.

I had a quick glance at feedback and it seems you have occasionally run into problems, but I am not sure if you knew or know how to solve them.

It probably pays to have a look through the help pages if you do run into a problem.

The first thing that is occurring to me is that the seller 'agreed to cancel'. I presume that was in a message?

Saying and doing are 2 entirely different things. I don't think ebay would refuse a cancellation.

A buyer cannot cancel, only a seller. I think the seller was lying to you if he said ebay refused to allow him to cancel.

I think ebay messages are, for the most part, automated. So if you kept getting emails asking you to finalise payment, then the sale was definitely not cancelled, in my opinion.

I am unsure what you mean by accidently agreed to buy 2 flashdrives. Did you buy one and then bought it a second time? That is what it sounds like. If you bought them singly and you paid separate postage for each, then I think the seller is more or less obliged to send them separately, to cover himself with tracking?

In any case, it sounds as if you are only getting one more flashdrive than you originally wanted so it isn't the end of the world, you can gift it or keep it for later.

I am not sure how the payment for the flashdrives went through with the book purchase without you seeing the total price at any stage.
I think you can contact ebay via chat, as others have suggested, but I am not sure you will get anywhere. You bid on the flashdrives  separately by the sounds of it, you bought, you paid.

If you find you have a problem with any purchase that arrives, it is faulty or not as described (or if an item does not arrive) then you can open an ebay claim for a refund. I think it would be worth reading up about that as in your feedback you say you have been scammed in the past. You should only open a claim though if an item is significantly not as described.
