faulty Item

I purchased an incar camera from a company in China which was faulty as it kept defaulting to Russian every time it was switched off then on again, after numerous emails, the company told me to fill in a form which had a couple of boxes to tick saying if I wanted a refund or a replacement,as I wanted the item I ticked replacement and returned the item to them.5 weeks went passed and I had not heard from them so I contacted them yet again, they apologized for the delay and refunded my money for the item and original postage even though i had told them i wanted a replacement,so now I am $17.90 out of pocket for the return postage and as it took so long I cannot even leave feedback for the item.I feel ripped off.Is there anything I can do about this or is it just bad luck and never deal with them again. Thanks

Bob

Re: faulty Item

I understand your disappointment.

From what I understand, your only cost effective option now is to contact the seller, explain that you are still out of pocket for the return postage and as it was their procedures at fault, would they kindly reimburse you your out of pocket expenses (do you have receipt of lodgement and tracking details for proof of return and cost?)

Then I guess it is a case of hoping that they will finalize the transaction to your satisfaction.

P.S. - next time before you return anything, use your buyer protection through PayPal (overseas order, I assume you paid by PayPal) and after initially making contact with the seller through eBay PM system, transfer all communication to PayPal via a Significantly Not as Described claim (If next time it is a SNAD that is - DO NOT make a fraudulent claim - PayPal claims are only for SNAD and INR's when that is waht they are)

Keep in mind, you only have 45 days from date of payment to raise such a claim.

Best of Luck, hoping that you achieve the outcome that you desire.

I think you're very fortunate that they refunded your money without any intervention from Paypal but despite your obvious disappointment, this is simply one of the costs of doing business with Asian sellers.

Although the seller is not obliged to reimburse you for your return postage costs, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask, but I doubt you'll receive a positive outcome.

Good luck nevertheless.

Re: faulty Item

No they wont reimburse me for the postage and they wouldn't send me another one as they can not guarantee that it will not have the exact same problem(how many can there be that default to Russian) so why are they still selling the items then
