I placed an order from overseas and I wish to leave feed back for two items ( not yet received) of an order of three. The third item has been received and feed back left.Due to staff not being at work (lockdown), suppliers not being able to deliver stock to the seller because of COVID19 The time for me to give feed back is about to expire. Will feed back still be active because the seller has been unable to send my items. I did pay for these on 16th Dec 2020. I normally leave feed back once the items have been delivered to me. James

On occasions I have had these.
Well, seller would like to have feedback and the feedback gives a guide to what the seller is like. Both, yourself, myself and others that get these "Please leave feedback" slips is a strong indication of its worth. With the current state of the world and the feeling of "Oh gosh, what's going to happen next" looming around, the 2008 reduction of feedback from 90 to 60 days needs to be looked at. That's for sure!

I think given that it's been nearly a full year since things really hit the fan as far as postage times etc go, and eBay has implemented a vast range of policies and procedures to deal with the fallout, the liklihood of an extension to the time allowed to leave feedback would appear to be of extremely low priority, if it has even been a consideration.
Call me cynical, but I agree with digital ghost on this one and I think we are unlikely to see an extension of time for feedback.
Ebay does what serves them best in business.
From my own point of view, I would be quite open to the idea of extending feedback time to eg 90 days and I know for some buyers, it would be a help but it isn't enough of an issue that I think ebay will do anything about it.
I too have often received little slips in with my purchases and usually they are along the lines of 'Hope you are happy with your purchase. If so, please consider leaving positive feedback. If you have any problems though, please contact us before leaving feedback."
I have no objection to those sorts of slips, all I take from it is that the seller is keen for me to be happy and I generally just leave positive feedback. I would, anyway, even without the slip.
I think from a seller's point of view, it is important to get some positive feedback coming in. But once a seller gets up to a certain point, then it won't make all that much difference. For example, if you are a zero feedback seller, getting those first few dozen positives probably does matter. If you already have a few hundred sales, maybe not so important.
Sellers don't care much if the time limit is 60 days. Probably they prefer it that way if the truth be known. But they don't want a neg in those 60 days. That's what the slips are about.
And buyers? A lot of them don't care that much and may never bother leaving feedback, although they may still look up feedback scores and negs.
Ebay? What they want is that for most people who do leave feedback, that they will leave positive comments. They not only want happy customers, they want it to be seen in FB that customers are happy. Restricting it to 60 days is probably more likely to get that result.

Here's what happened to me when I purchased a lamp. It was a bait and switch item, in that the seller showed a lovely picture of the lamp, however, the lamp received was all banged up and really old. The only positive is that the seller refunded the item plus shipping, but it was time consuming. Within a couple weeks of returning the item, I wanted to leave seller feedback. But guess what? The seller disappeared. Now a year later, they are back in business and I can't leave feedback of my experience.
Bottom line: Beware of bait and switches on ebay. Make sure what you're buying is exactly what you're getting. Ask the seller to send you updated photos...not sure what else you can do otherwise. Maybe someone else has an idea.

I have "an idea".
When dragging up an old thread make sure you do so on the US Site... eBay.com & not on the Australian Site... eBay.com.au.
