Colic, how did you know what item the person bought? I am intrigued as i don't know how to do that.
I think it is disgraceful that the seller expects the buyer to pay for postage after that listing. They had enough chances to get the listing details right, if they couldn't fix it in about a dozen changes then they should have to wear the cost and put it down to their own stupidity.
I'm not a huge fan of negative feedback unless it is warranted but in this case, if they won't follow through, I would not agree to a cancellation and I would post a negative.
I am even wondering if they are in breach of ebay rules and it may be worth reporting them if you get no satisfaction.

Just tell them you purchased because of the trotal price and you are not prepared to pay any more. If you have already paid then just tell them you expect your item to be posted asap and if it isn't you will report them to ebay for seller non performance. If you haven't already paid then just wait and see what they do, if they send a mutual cancellation request refuse it then they will have to still pay the fvf, a good lesson, if they open an unpaid item dispute contact ebay and tell them the seller is trying to force you to pay postage on a free post item and request any strike is removed.

Maybe the seller is struggling using the new business policy feature and when listing other items that require a different
policy instead of making new policies and naming them each time their postage policy changes they amend the original
one????
If you look at some of their other listings they appear to have had oodles of postage terms changes?
I understand it does not affect the sellers obligation to the OP. But I am struggling to find any other reason a seller would
alter the postage individually so many times

If you select to create a new policy and then - when you go to save and apply - it is identical to an existing policy, eBay prevents you from actually saving it unless you make changes to the one you're creating.
The other thing is, all those revisions might not have anything to do with postage. That appears in the revision history whether changes to postage are made or not (or, if the seller clicks to revise a listing but doesn't actually change anything, but submits anyway).
If they are using selling manager to modify their listings in bulk, it is possible they changed something they didn't mean to - you only see a short summary of listing information in that view, and if you're doing a lot at once, it can be easy to overlook something, or include it in a change erroneously.
All that being said, I actually agree with everyone else.

I saw all those changes. Unbelievable! That is why I wouldn't pay postage.

I would remind them of ebays policies and ask them to honor the sale at the advertised postage
