I'm confused about how you are being charged $12 for free postage. Nearly all her listings are free postage, so if you buy and pay straight away, there can't be any additional costs added. The listings I looked at all had immediate payment required, so she can't add costs after the sale, because unless you pay straight away, there is no sale.

I'm also confused about how you know she would be paying $40 a year for free postage? That makes no sense at all! As for officeworks, all the listings I looked at showed Australia Post. Can you post the item number of the item you bought so we can have a look?

As for the removal of negative feedback, I'm guessing you broke some rules of negative feedback. There are rules, and if you break them, the seller can request to have it removed. If you got abusive, calling them a scammer, or any other word relating to that, calling someone a w*nker (which you did in a neg you left), or mentioning a dispute (I know you didn't open a dispute, but it's good to know that for future reference), plus a number of other things. Given she has a previous negative feedback still visible on her account, I'm guessing you violated the feedback policy.

Can you remember what you wrote for the feedback? Word for word, and whether you put it in uppercase. That way we can see if it violates policy or not. If it doesn't, you can request to have it reinstated.

We regulars here are acutely aware that there are some sellers who deserve negative feedback. However, if that is your intention, leave it a day or 2, until you are feeling less hostile. That way you are more likely to leave factual feedback, rather than emotional. Factual feedback is less likely to be removed.

Oh, and it's not the seller's fault the courier left your parcel where they did. Once she hands it over, she has no control of what happens to it. If that's an issue, take it up with the courier company.

No transparency by EBAY.....PROTECT sellers at all cost....!!!!  How can a seller who falsely states free postage and then sends email stating that she has $12 postal charges and just because she pays a small  annual fee for FREE POSTAGE she can rip off you off...

I do not mind paying for postage....but this person has made thousands using this system....and that is on top the actual item cost..!!!!!

And to think that Seller can just wipe off negative feedback without any communication with buyer is totally wrong...!!!

I am not understanding what you mean. When you bought the item, were you on a computer or phone? I have read that sometimes a phone app can falsely show free postage when it isn't.

But apart from that sort of glitch, the price shown is the price you pay. I know I usually buy and then just pay without any contact with the seller.

If a seller contacted me after I had paid and said I owed another $12, I would probably just refuse to pay it and if it didn't arrive, file a claim against the seller for item not received.

I really don't understand what you mean by the seller pays an annual fee for free postage.

All I can think of is ebay plus, but buyers pay a small annual fee for that. Are you in ebay plus? If you are, then some items on ebay come to you with free postage, but not all items are covered by ebay plus.

Ebay doesn't usually remove feedback without a good reason (I think sometimes they make mistakes but usually there is a good reason) so it may be you misunderstood something in the ad or the message.

eBay protect sellers at all costs?

You are surely not serious

eBay screws sellers as hard as they can every single day

Just because you don't like one experience with one seller

Please, never become a seller (and yes, I have been a seller for over 15 years on my selling ID)

You think you are hard done by now?

And you very obviously have no idea of how eBay works when you are a seller

@guntis21,

Just on the subject of "free postage"...

You do know that there is no such thing as free postage...? When an item is listed on eBay, where postage is stated as "Free postage", that does not mean that the carrier delivers the goods without being paid.

That would be ludicrous. Can you imagine that anyone - even a major company such as... let's say Apple ... has a contract with Australia Post or domestic couriers in which a small annual fee would entitle them to have everything ordered by anyone in Australia with free delivery? It just wouldn't happen!

When a company advertises items with FREE DELIVERY, what they actually mean is that the buyer is not charged an additional delivery fee. It would be better to call this DELIVERY INCLUDED.

That doesn't mean that the seller is not charged by AP or the courier company for each and every parcel delivered to each and every buyer. It does mean that the seller must absorb that cost in the item price itself. You'll sometimes see FREE DELIVERY touted on various websites when an order reaches a certain amount - and that makes sense. At a certain dollar figure, presumably the seller can afford to absorb the postage charge.

Specifically, in your case, you haven't said enough about the transaction to enable the responders here to identify the issue. Are you in fact talking about an eBay Plus item? Can you confirm? No one here can explain unless we have some more details to help contextualise what you mean.
