Why is an item located in Australia priced in dollars which are USD and become AUS dollars after a committment to purchase is made?

I have come across this too. There is another selling site that is notorious for this. You think you have the correct price, they often quote GST included, which it rarely is. You write down the price, then gst is added and it changes, then it gets converted and changes again, I have even had it change from the quoted amount paid via Paypal to have it out again by a few cents when they send an email. It is very very hard to check bank statements these days.

Because they've listed it on the US site, not the Australian site.
