my buyer's name is same as my user signon name - how to change?

• Hello: when I started buying on Ebay my buyer's name was the same as my sign on name:  rhs66pres. I didn't knowingly request this and every other buyer on ebay that I've seen has a more cryptic buyer's name. I want to have a less informative buyer's name like everyone else. Please give specifics on how I can  make this change...

If you are referring to being able to see your name when bidding, you are the only bidder to see it that way.

Other bidders also see yours as cryptic.........5****y or something to that effect.

Log out of eBay and look at an item you are bidding on and you will see how your ID looks to others.

If you mean a name change, you can either change the ID name or password if you want.

Go to your account then click on personal information then click on edit User ID and change it to what you want.

You have to sign into ebay with your ID.....if you change it you will still have to log in with the new ID.

When you are bidding on an auction only you and the seller can see that ID....other members see an abbreviated ID made up of two letters or numbers from your ID with **** between them.

This also changes from time to time so it would be very difficult for anyone to work out what the full ID is.

Don't do what I said as I just realized that you're just seeing your own name when bidding and other bidders are not seen as other posters have said this happens when you look at the bidders you only see your own ID and others are hidden.
