the item location I find a important feature that I reckon it would get constantly used everyone all the time,
it should be there right in front of you like it use to be easy access.
now you have to click on to more refinements, then item locations, then adjust it, Why would you do that ?
making it that bit harder, then you have to go into again just to clear it, this should be easier than that, but then they have added "FORMAT" on the side menu, but you can still select these options at the top of the listings anyway..why does it need to be doubled up ?
also what happen to the side menu, its gotten wider , plus the other side with the adverts, combined that's only leaves about half a screen to cram the listing in.

I constantly use the distance feature,
ie I search for VW Beetle parts every day, I sort by newly listed (dont need to see items that were listed last week, ive already reviewed them) and read down all of the new listings, reviewing part, price, delivery options & distance from me..
That is the one I mostly use also. Buggered if I want to view a truck in Queensland whan I live in Melbourne. Not like the postage is the same all over Australia

I have to agree with EVERY poster in this thread. The new format is TERRIBLE. There is something about it visually that makes it really hard to scan through postings and notice what's interesting to you. It has taken away features that are useful. There are heaps of things WORSE about the new format than the old one, and NOTHING better.
You have stuffed it up.
And you Americans just don't seem to understand that for people in country that is a long way from anywhere else in the world, and especially in remote parts of it, there are things that are only practicable to purchase from around here, or from specific countries, that its just a complete waste of time looking at posting from certain/other countries and locations for lots of things.
eBay, just throw away the new format and give us back the old one.

Totally agree, new format is rubbish, I look for big pieces of timber, obviously not going to be posted! when I scroll through the listings I cant see what state its in, and, I have a lot of items on my watch list, now as I scroll through ads I cant see if theyre already on my list, I now have to open every damn ad to see if its on my watch list and where it is.
Starting to get a bit sick and tired of the constantly changing formats...it was better two years ago than it is now.
Someone should tell the computer geeks to stop fiddling around with the site, it only annoys the hell out of people.
Sometimes I open the site and its so different I wonder if Im actually on ebay!
I close it and open it again just to be sure.
Cmon ebay, get your act together.

Ahhh, to err is human but if you want to totally stuff things you need a computer geek with no concept of reality, a great system that works and a captive audience that relies on the ideas they implement.
Or a child on a sugar rush!

i logged in a couple of days ago to find out that my layout had changed from what i had been using the day before and months and years before and I hate it.
i wish when ebay change something they would allow on opt out feature , or a classic look mode where you can look at your page like you always have.

May I suggest that everyone who dislikes the new format, emails ebay about it?
As far as I am aware, ebay doesn't read the boards, so will be oblivious that so many of us find the new format hard to use. My biggest gripe is the missing location details and the fact that the search location distance is now about three more clicks away than it used to be.
I have emailed ebay regarding that. Perhaps if they get enough complaints, we may find the location info. reinstated. One can wish, anyway.

Hi digital*ghost, I still don't get it. I thought the times had gone back to "Time Left" but it hasn't. I was just looking at an item at about 5:30 AM on a Wednesday morning (it had roughly 14 minutes till it ended). In the search column it said "Ended. Today. 12:00. Tuesday." I can't work out how any of that information is actually of use compared to displaying the actual Time Left as it used to be. The auction hadn't ended. It wasn't Tuesday. And there was no indication that I should get interested as there was only 14 minutes left. This is simply turning me off general category browsing. (I can still click on the item to get the truth about the situation.)

perhaps it would be to our advantage if ebay aus did shut down, then buyers would have to go to the other site with free listings and 2% fvf .
As of today, the other site with free listings and 0% fvf .
Now no listing fees & NO fvf .... !!!!
