I've purchased an item, no word from the Seller, item not yet posted, I guess it's only a couple of days, so not overly concerned, however, I cannot find anything about their handling time. I suspect this is another eBay change, or should I go to SpecSavers??
Changes never seem to be for the better, if I could see their handling time it would explain what I should expect, e.g. do they post in 3, 5, 7 days or whatever.

I was wondering that too, about the need for seeing a handling time. Normally there isn't any need.
I'd hazard a guess most buyers see 3 main things when they buy-the item title, the photo and the estimated arrival date.
Most probably read the spiel too, though they may miss some details.
Nobody (well, maybe some but they'd be in the minority) looks at handling time.
However, I know just where shopping bag is coming from. He/she has not had the item marked as posted.
It is irritating when sellers don't mark that. In fact I'd go further & say any seller who doesn't mark it is doing himself no favours at all.
If an item turns up a day or so late but had been marked promptly as posted, you'd be inclined not to tick the late box, but if an item is not marked off at all then turns up late, different story as it all smacks of disorganisation & not all parcels have date stamps to check.
Buyers hate uncertainty & if sellers have the tools to help make things clearer, they should use them.
Shoppingbag, you can probably make a rough stab at a likely handling time by looking at location and ETA.
But once you have the item & do the FB, you can always mark communication at 4 rather than 5 if they haven't marked something as posted. After all, it is part of the communication.
