Chances are, looking at their feedback left for others, they probably don't want the item anyway, so not sure what all the panic is about.

Paypal refunds don't take 5 days. It sounds like the seller is stringing you along.
Make sure you don't close any disputes until you have the refund.

Totally agree, they don't take 5 days. The seller is full of it. I got a message this afternoon from a seller Mr Tippy bought something from apologising that the item was out of stock. They had refunded and sent a cancellation. I saw the message 15 minutes after the message arrived and the money was already back in my PayPal account. Yes, I accepted the cancellation. I couldn't see the point in hitting the decline option.
