Hi guys am i covered with paying paypal as guest! i don't have account, if so is it the same amounts? .Also another Question can you get insurance on normal parcels as extra?, I couldn't see anything on Oz posts site about Insurance thanks in advance.:-)

I don't think from memory that you have as much protection if you pay as a guest but as you are using a credit card you have the protection offered for a card purchase from most banks, some on line only and credit union accounts don't cover 3rd party payments.

Unless you are never going to buy anything again why wouldn't you just open a Paypal account anyway, more and more companies are offering it as a Payment method and it is so much quicker and easier than having to fill in your card details every time you buy something.

Yes AP offerr insurance of a sort, it is called exttra cover and is available in conjunction with registered post however it does not cover against damage unless AP judge that the packaging wasd adequate.

Registration and insurance are there to protect the seller anyway, it makes no difference to you what service the seller has used unless of course they have used a fully trackable service which shows delivery and you try to claim not received.

Not 100% certain, but pretty sure you are covered as a guest, I did it a couple of times before I set up properly when buying, using cc via pp and the note on order was - protection eligible - not sure if it is an ongoing thing tho, or just for a few new transactions??

You do get paypal protection if you pay as a guest. In the event that you do need to make a claim you have to open an account to do so.

You can only make a limited number of guest transactions...6 I think, before you have to open an account.

Just curious as to why after 4 years using ebay including buying from overseas sellers,you've never opened a Paypal account?

I also THINK the 6x is a fallacy lol
