Paypal limited my account for no reason and wont let me have my money unless I give them a heap of personal information. I rang them and they were very unhelpful and said I have to give them the information. There was nothing wrong with my account and that was my money. In the end I told them to keep my money then and shove the account, I will never deal with them again.
I have come across alot of ebay sellers that refuse to deal with paypal and now I understand why. Paypal should not be allowed to demand peoples personal information that is unnecessary.
I hope everybody thinks before giving out their personal details to paypal or any other place, this is how things get hacked. What are they going to request next? My password?

Hi Elizabeth, Did you recieve an email ( spam ) or any other, notifying you of any changes ? It will be a phishing email !!!! This sort of thing is happening quite a bit. Go into your Paypal acc the proper way ( NOT through the email ) & see what is going on. If all is OK, then call Paypal again and report it. They do take this seriously.

Elizabeth, call them again and find out why they are wanting all this information. It does not add up. Speak to a Supervisor also.

Paypal is requesting proof of your identity to comply with Australia's Money Laundering Laws. It is the same as a bank requesting 100 points of ID to open an account.
There is nothing strange about it and we have all had to do it eventually.

As Lyndal said othing strange or suspicious abou this, many of us have had to do it,lots of things can trigger it such as a sudden increase in spending, receiving or transferring funds, a payment or receipt of over a certain amount etc.
All you have to do is email them with attachments of the scanned documents or fax photocopies.

I would suspect a scam myself as I never had to give any of those details to paypal and you have been in paypal for a while I'd guess
so they would allready have the info they need.ring/contact paypal direct but not through any number in an email you may have recieved.I get 2 or 3 of these scams a month asking for details or I wont be able to use my acc. Forward any emails to spoof@paypal.com(I think thats it)or just ignore it .You could try buying something rally cheap and seeing if you can pay through paypal, then you will know for sure if it is real or not
