paypal

Can't log onto Paypal, couldn't get any help online or via the telephone number so I closed my Paypal account. I think that the hassle with paypal was that they seem to have a captcha as part of the log in process now BUT none show as part of my attempt to sign in and only know it when the error "incorrect captcha" appears.

Anyway, I want to purchase something through Ebay and the payment method is paypal only, is it possible to use paypal without an account there via CC or should I just close my Ebay account as well?

Thanks in advance for any helpful replies.

Re: paypal

There is usually an option on the payment page for cc, don't think you need a paypal account.

You can use paypal as a guest to buy without an account but you can only do it a certain number of times before you are asked to open an account.   Also, you cannot use the paypal dispute system without opening an account.

As paypal is a mandatory payment system for all ebay sellers you will have a very limited use of ebay without a paypal account....at least until ebay's own payment system starts up.

I have been using paypal since before it was even called paypal and before ebay bought it...and later sold it and I have nev.er used a Captcha.

Re: paypal

have never ever seen captcha on PayPal either  so I am afraid I don't know why it is asking you for it in order to sign in

I too have never seen captcha used in a Paypal login. Just a thought though, I wonder if it was simply a log-in loop that a simple cache and cookie removal and reboot of your computer would have cured ???

I'm not sure I understand what you mean here - how can you close your PayPal account if you can't log in? (I'm guessing it was done over the phone, but just wanted to clarify. Were you also accessing PayPal from a direct link online, i.e. going directly to the website via a bookmark or typing the URL, or some other method?)

Re: paypal

Thanks all, I've attached a screen print, obviously changed email address, worst was the fact that I couldn't speak to anyone at PP to help. I will try as a guest.
