Hi I won an auction this week on a queen anne chest of drawers...I emailed the seller yesterday morning to arrange a pickup
time this weekend.
yesterday early evening I get a mess from her saying that in her words
"i was wheeling the item out to the carport and left it it there, and one of my reletives reversed back into it and practically broke it in half unfortunatley it was a accidient and i do apologise and i understand if you leave negetive feedback but it was just an unfortunate accident and its just un repairable."
taking this at face value and thinking this is what has occurred I emailed back saying no worries, these things happen, I was just glad no one was hurt etc.
Questions...what do I do now in regards to Ebay? they may think I've not paid for this item etc
today I wonder if she wasn't happy with the price and someone else has offered her more??
I have never had this happen before to me so any advice please. Also I know people do email sellers after auctions and try negoitate prices and buy after auctions have finished, I've had that and it's quite annoying
just want to tie up Ebay end and not get Buyer Not Paid flag against my name

That is good quality furniture....I am guessing she did not get what she wanted for it.
Don't worry about being a non-payer.....it is up to the seller to open a dispute for no-payment and even if she did dare to do it you can prove to ebay that she cancelled to sale, not you.
I presume the messages came through ebay, but if not just make sure you keep them until it is too late for the seller to do anything.

Wonder if the seller would be willing to send a picture through showing the damage (images can usually be attached to ebay messages)? As a buyer that is something I might want so there is a 'record'.
Recently I won an item, it turns out it was damaged (I quizzed something I noticed in the image) and I simply asked the seller to cancel the transaction. I sent them the following link:

hi there im sorry i cant because the chest of drawers has already been taken to the local tip with other things on a trailer, so if you like to go through the checkout process and leave feedback it should all be finished and then ill do the same for you, if there is any other issues i will have to contact ebay, once again i appologise as it was an accident and unfortunatley theres nothing i couldve done about it and aswell ive got to pay fees for the item also, so once again im sorry for the inconvienience.

arghh I think just open a cancel sale or something, thanks for the advice or anything else I should do

DON'T go through ckeckout.
The seller should offer you a mutual cancellation, but if they don't that is their loss (they won't get their FVF back). Just let it go, leave feedback if you wish. As said earlier, they won't win a non-payment case.
I would prossibly monitor the seller/item description for a while. It will probably end up relisted.

Definitely did not get enough for it.
I know it is the sellers responsibility, but eBay need to take some responsibility if they insist on telling 'new' sellers to list 'LOW'.
They actually adivse sellers to start at .99c and then just step back and let the fun times roll
