If you are having a go at the farmers...
Trying to keep a farm alive during a drought isn't what I would call "Trying to cash in".
If you are having a shot at the collectors value of items generally....
Have a go at people selling little squares of paper for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
I think they are called stamps.

They got caught out so they had to come up with that excuse lol look at all the bad comments the farmers are getting for trying it on.
They thought they could sell something worthless period, no one in their right mind would think they could sell a toy for that much money.
And stamps are worth something lol if you have a stamp that's worth something simple.
Personally I prefer coins.

Never mind, it's disappointing for you but beds aren't a rarity so there will be others out there.
I feel a bit sorry for the seller as they will have to pay fees on the ebay sale. You can consider that their punishment if you like. I don't know what happened. Either they didn't realise the need for speed and didn't rush to remove their ebay ad once the bed sold privately, or else they were very unlucky and both sales occurred about the same time.
Your neg feedback may affect their selling account on ebay but it would not affect me as a buyer as all it does is confirm that someone else saw it in person and liked it enough to buy on the spot. I am probably like countess in that what would make me hesitate more is the lack of detail eg brand names etc, in their ads. I noticed in their couch ad they have written it is 99% new, they would even say 100% new, yet it is a year old. Risky way to describe it. Definitely newbies.

Collectable items are worth what the market deems they're worth, simple.
