Hi, II would really appreciate if someone could help me. I purchased boots sold as new, however had a few stains on light colour leather which werent mentioned or displayed.
I opened a return item case. Seller has no return policy. She tried to convince me to use leather cleaner to which i objected didnt want to take the risk. I offered to pay for return postage to make things easier. She eventually agreed to a refund once she received the boots. She was very worried about neg feedback. Powerseller over 10,000 fb but 3 negs for being difficult with returns. I have sent boots back with tracking, she received today but no refund.
What if she doesnt refund? All I ve got as proof is the request details and a tracking number, no ebay labels were printed..with thanks

Ebay states:
You can get information about the status of your return or refund by selecting View return or refund status.
How returns work on eBay
After you initiate a return request, the seller has up to three business days to respond.
The seller can:
You'll receive your refund after you've completed our online returns process. This includes the seller receiving the returned item. The seller then has up to six business days to inspect the item and start the refund. Some sellers may refund you sooner, depending on their returns policy.
It usually takes three to five business days to receive a refund. If you paid using a credit card, it could take up to 30 days, depending on your card provider.
If the seller doesn't respond, or you're not satisfied with their response, you can ask eBay to step in after three business days

Thank you for your reply. Which means although the seller has asked me to return she hasnt accepted the return through the system, hence why i havent received email from ebay. What are my options now please?

I'm sure it will be okay. Keep all the emails in case you need them as proof, after the stipulated time if there is no option to escalate just ring ebay, they will help you.

I'm glad all is well and the seller refunded you.
Can I just say though that in the circumstances, I think you may have been better going through the ebay process of item not as described and stating your case. You say the boots were described as new but had stains which were not mentioned or shown in photos.
Had you attached photos of the stains to your claim, I think the seller may have had to pay return postage.
In my view, that would have been fair enough. For a change of mind I think a buyer should pay return postage but where an item is significantly not as described (and it sounds as if those boots were seconds) then I think the seller should be paying return costs.
Your seller got off very lightly I think. I would not be rushing to give positive feedback either. They didn't describe the item correctly.
