I am the seller that this person is talking about. It is my second item i have sold and still working it out. I was away working and my wife was looking after our 6 month old son. We dont always have time, as one would understand, to troll ebay. The buyer sent numerous emails within the same hour on every day. when the weekend came and we finally had time to look and parcel the item, there was a dispute. I had real trouble trying to clear and fix the dispute not having done this before, and not realising why he done so. I dont know too much about it but i would recommend that if you see ******* trying to buy something your selling, stay away. he has put us off ebay and very rude.
Thanks for your support guys.
Matey, I agree that you've had a pretty rude initiation into selling on eBay, but please keep in mind that there are a lot of really great buyers (and sellers) on eBay, don't be put off just yet, ok?
I think that you can tell from my previous posts that I do not condone what has happened to you, but I would like to point out the elephant in the room for you, just something to think about to make your eBay selling a little less stressful in the future.
When listing something for sale, maybe have a think about other committments you do have throughout the listing duration but also on the day the auction ends. I think you can see why. In this case the buyers reasons were kinda not reasonable (although in their eyes they were - and a lot of what they have done, has been done as a knee jerk reaction because they too did not understand the intricasies of online trading etc) but next time, the communication just might be reasonable and important.
In saying that, I am so glad that you have found the discussion boards, they are filled with some incredibly knowledgeable and experienced buyers and sellers who give their time to help other members navigate the realm of eBay trading.
(just get that item in the post if you haven;'t done so yet so that you can shut down the PayPal dispute LOL - and make sure that you send it with tracking and get a post office receipt of lodgement. It's my guess that after the public flogging they have received here, they may be a little bit vengeful and try to dispute that they ever received the item.
If you are not sure of how to contact eBay or PayPal or how to handle any of this, you can always come back here and ask questions about how to proceed.

Yeah you guys, your correct as on reading right through the whole thread there appears to be a bit of overreaction in this instance, and I agree there is no place for those that are rude, crude uncouth,or just downright ill mannered.
But getting back to my issue I made a purchase from a seller that ebay had rated as a star seller/super seller with a 100%feedback and immediately after making the purchase this sellers rating had been reduced to 99.2%? and on looking at his rating again today this rating had gone down to a low 97% with 11 buyers saying he either wont respond to messages and goods have not been recieved, however this guy appears to be still trading, so what is the answer? dont report his not responding?.
Luckily for me I had a bad feeling about this guy as he had failed to respond to any of the 6 messages I sent him over a period of a fewweeks,so paypal have moved to escalate this issue to a claim

I hope you do get your money back Gristi53 and you were right to open a dispute, I myself have had to do it twice already this year for items I have purchased, both from sellers with high 90's or 100% feedback. The first the seller didn't respond to ebay messages but responded to the claim with supposed copy/paste tracking details that stated the item was still overseas 4 weeks after the sale date. Yet I couldn't get the actual tracking number to show as valid anywhere, and I said as much in my case. They had 100% feedback and all of the supposed sales at that time had positive feedback (weeks before I ended up opening a dispute). Paypal gave me my money back pretty quickly Thankfully. The second didn't have tracking and the seller again didn't respond to ebay messages but did to the claim and were kind enough to offer a replacement be sent or I could get my money back. Just a note, I've been stung by this before, always ask for your money back as if you wait for a replacement to arrive, more often it puts you outside the dispute period if the item is from overseas. I would then find another seller to buy from.
I've got a general rule for myself when it comes to buying, if I haven't got it within 3 weeks of the postage date, I open a dispute and explain to the seller that I am protecting myself and filing within the allowed period and if not recieved or responded to within a week I will esculate to a claim. I make sure I am open and polite and give them ample opportunity to respond. If I don't get any answer then I leave negative after the claim is settled, and if I don't get the item but they willingly refund eventually, I just don't leave feedback.
Bad sellers do infuriate me as do bad buyers, attitude is everything and just because you might be stressed, doesn't mean a person has the right to be rude. We do have to be adults to buy and sell on Ebay, so it would be nice if people started acting like them! Also, what's the saying? Catch more flies with honey....

You have dragged up a thread that is getting on 5 years old. It is best to look at the date of the last entry before replying, though I know it is hard to remember to do that.
Anyway, It has been so rare that I have been ripped off by an Asian seller that I can't even remember, most of them are really good. People tend to get into trouble if they don't do their homework - look at the sellers feedback, and don't expect to get a well made product for a cheap price. even if something goes wrong with a purchase you have recourse so it is actually difficult to get ripped off if you understand the procedures for buying on Ebay.
It is not good form to tar every Asian seller for the sins of a few.
