In short I bought an item and paid for it at the end of the auction. I paid within an hour. Payment status said it was pending. No worries there here latlely I have had it say that a few times and all was well. So I think nothing of it and a few days later I get my item in the mail. I go on to leave feedback and notice that the payment was still pending. I than go to paypal to see what the issue was. The money was not claimed. I send the seller a message to let them know that their money was still unclaimed and they sent back that they were having some issues and did not know what was going on. 3 weeks went by and the money was still not claimed, so I sent another message to them and it has been a week and I have not heard anything from them as of yet. So it has been a month this money is sitting there. Does anyone know the best way to handle this?

I linked my eBay to my Paypal account back then & it has been working perfectly alright for about 7 years.
As having a new ID & a pending sale I thought I'd check with Paypal today & I found that U also have to link from Paypal to eBay as well - I found my old eBay ID wasn't linked from the Paypal end (big shock to me that it wasn't).
The Paypal lady was very helpful & said not linking your account from Paypal to eBay might cause no trouble at all, but then again it could.

I have all my email addresses associated with my various IDs registered with my ONE Paypal account. As far as I'm aware I don't have any of the IDs 'linked' to Paypal. Given that Paypal IDs are email addresses and they don't give a rats what you call yourself here, or on any other site you sell from.

Thanks crikey-I just feel that it is the RIGHT thing to do! I only do cartwheels & go "yippee" when I obtain an item at well below my max bid!!!

I had a similar issue with some new sellers in the past not claiming their paypal payment but when they have been adviced on what to do, the payment was then claimed and all went fine.
Now again, two days ago I purchased an item on ebay (a theatrical costume) from a seller. Item paid 3 minutes after the end of the auction, then discovered almost in horror that the seller in question had never sold before. The only feedback they had were as buyers. There was no time to check in details as I was bidding in a hurry, seconds before the end of the auction.
Now the paypal payment sent is still showing as 'pending' in my ebay so I emailed the seller over this, asking to log into their paypal account and claim the payment.
Seller has not replied to any of my emails. According with their ebay ID, they have been using ebay for 2 years or more so I don`t think they are totally ' new ', probably they are only 'new' at selling. Also I find quite odd that they have not replied to any of my four emails.
If they had a problem with their email address in paypal or similar, as often in this case can happen, they would have replied to my emails. Even tried to phone them today, no reply there too.
The fact that they are completely ignoring my emails or phone calls, it makes me think that they are deliberately refusing to accept my payment because the winning bid was not what they wanted or wasn`t high enough for them.
I have been dealing with thoudands of people on ebay and seen almost everything.
Unfortunately, many new sellers don`t really know how ebay work. They just think that they can list an item on ebay and see if they like or not the winning bid AFTER the item is sold.
New sellers have no idea that when the sell on ebay they are entering in a legal selling binding contract OR as in this case they know this but they decide to IGNORE the rules !
This can be a highly frustrating situation if you are the buyer !
Honestly, ebay and paypal should not give the option to sellers to accept or not to accept a payment when an item is sold on ebay.
Reason is that quite of a few sellers clearly are abusing this option !

This thread is over 12 months old, also if the payment is shwing as pending are you sure it has not been processed as an echeque.
