seller now saying pickup not postage

HI, I am a winning bidder on 100 vhs tapes from melb.  Seller now says it is for pick up only and that postage costs quoted are wrong.  Do I let newby back out of sale or do I make them stick to postage costs...Dont want to be nasty but it was a good deal for me anyway.

how new?

how big a mistake?

was it one of the usual mistakes trying to list as pick up only but came out as "free postage" cos they didn't know how to list properly? or was a definite figure given?

(I can only find a listing from Sydney, with no bids - but then I suck at searching this stuff LOL)

sorry yes it is the one from Sydney....... I have now won this item and do not know if I should hold the seller to the postage price or let it go.  His rating is 0 and this is his first sale on ebay..... should I force the sale or let the poor fellow off the hook.

The seller is most unlikely to post those tapes to you....he has no clue at all abut postage.  He has the same amount listed for 8 tapes as for over 100.

There is no way on earth that you can force him to send them to you and even if you agree to pay postage he will have to send them in several parcels to comply with Australia Post's weight restrictions.

mmm, it's nearly Christmas - might be time to spread a little Christmas cheer if he's such a NOOB.

let him off, or see if the postage costs make it worthwhile to you...

if you hold him, I doubt he will send it anyway, so why go through the angst? if his account gets a neg, he's giot nothing to lose by just abandoning it and starting another one.

Is he being nice and polite in his communication with you? does he seem apologetic etc?

I think I might consider leaving neutral feedback though, just so there is a record in case he doesn't improve his ways.

Something like, seller made a mistake in the listing, so we agreed to cancel the transaction... (work on it though - that sounds rough LOL)
