When is eBay going to stop sellers withdrawing listings after bids have been taken. Once a bid has been taken a legal contract has been formed and should be adheared to by both parties. It seems this happens when seller gets bids lower than what they think item is worth. Sellers, please respect you buyers, there what you survive on.

Thanks for digging up a 2½ yo thread
There are no reserves on goods sold on ebay Australia
On eBay.com.au, the reserve price option is only available for vehicles listed in the Cars, Motorcycles and Boats categories on eBay Motors.

It used to also include Real Estate, but ????

Didn't there used to be that offered for normal items? When did it cease?

4channel, for as long as I can recall on eBay Australia, there hasn't been the ability to set a reserve price on anything other than vehicles and real estate. The change so that the real estate category no longer has a reserve price must be relatively recent. However, I note that real estate and business categories do explicitly have non-binding bids on eBay, so perhaps the removal of the real estate reserve is connected to that policy.
eBay.com.au has different rules to eBay.com, for example, so perhaps you are thinking of the reserve price policy on eBay.com, where reserves are permitted.

Hi countessalmirena , thanks for the reply. Must have been years ago when I first joined up in 2002. To be honest, I haven't seen it for a very very long time come to think of it. Cheers for putting me in the picture.

Iv never sold anything at auction and I'm currently bidding on a item now but common sense tells me that if the bids don't go to a price that the seller wants, then they have every right to withdraw the item, yes it can be disappointing for the highest bidder but you can't expect seller s to loose out , eBay is not a giveaway site ,
