shill bidding

I hope so, It just makes me angry when I see people continue to get scammed, with no real consequences for the perpetrator.

I,m curious why the member has left no feedback for anyone since their shill account got NARU'd. Since the member left fake feedback for herself via the shill account, could eBay have removed her ability to leave feedback?

This site sees feedback as part of a transaction and I don't think they would stop a seller giving feedback.

It could be the seller not giving out feedback because they believe it was the reason why they where discovered shill biding.

By not giving feedback they can't give fake feedback to their shill accounts by mistake,X-(

That way anyone scrolling through their feedback can't "spot" their shillers.

I'll give it another week, but it's beginning to look like eBay are taking no action against this sellers blatant shill bidding!

SO  why is this ,,private listing - bidders' identities protected,,on a Magpul rifle sling ? I hate it and I'm not bidding when I cant see who I'm bidding against or whos name is in the automatic bidding.. I HATE IT !!

No body can see who else is bidding except the seller eve in a regualr auction that the seller hasn't set to private. If you go in as a guest you will see that your own id is disguised as *lettersnumbers* as well. Only you can see your id and other bidders can only see theirs. It is to stop bidders contacting one another for various reasons, not some evil plot against you by eBay.:-)

shill bidding

Is shill bidding actually illegal? I've complained to ebay about one member in particular who is not only selling fake jewelery, but is also using her husband's account to shill bid. I only realised this when I noticed he actually won two of her auctions and left feedback (and the idiot's ebay account name includes his full name which was a big giveaway). I looked back through her feedback and at each auction page and noticed he had bid on about 75% of her auctions. eBay was extremely unhelpful with their response telling me there was not enough evidence that her merchandise was fake, even though I supplied links to the suppliers official site showing that the jewelery was both the wrong shape and colour! I have reported her again, this time for shill bidding, but I don't think a ban is adequate. This shill bidding has led to nearly 200 people being ripped off so I would rather get the police involved if it actually is a crime. I've heard people have been jailed before, but that was in the states... anyone know the law down here? eBay's faqs mention it's illegal, but who exactly would I report it to?

go-tazz said (on first page of this topic)....

"As stated, the seller is the one that needs to report "bidders" like these as they will be able to see their full ID,(we can only see the a***g)........."

um,...... why would a seller report these "bidders" when they are in the winners circle?!
