I'm trying to make a purchase (buy it now) but keep getting a message coming up 'transaction blocked' - buyer cannot accept payments at this time'. What does this mean? The item ends in 12 hours, and I would really like to buy it, but obviously this raises some red flags. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks

it means the seller has added you to their blocked list or you don't meet the sellers conditions of sale and are automatically blocked.

Also means there may be a problem with the seller.
I have encountered this a few times on ridiculously
bargain priced items and see they have sold
100's of them. You know, priced at $15, free freight
and everyone else has them at $100+.
Guessing some problems may have been raised
and under investigation.

I had the same thing about a week ago and had never purchased from the seller before. I emailed the seller about it and they knew nothing and it ended up working the next day. I think it is a glitch with ebay.

Its a problem with the sellers PayPal account.
This often happens when a seller is suspected of being a scammer or hijacked account.

It's an eBay glitch.

I'm a buyer & a seller on ebay.
I have my account set up so that anyone who has 2 unpaid cases against them in a 12 month period is blocked.
One I can understand - life gets in the way.
But 2 is a pattern I'm not prepared to risk.
When I've been contacted by potential buyers who complain they
can't bid, i check their feedback & am glad I have that
protection in place.
Not saying this is the case here but there are different reasons why.

A blocked buyer does not get the message that the OP is getting.
If the buyer is caught by the seller's auto blocks they just get the message that the seller is not accepting bids from them at present.
