why change it, now its hard 2 find anything

I have a theory about this.

 

If things are in the same place all the time, then people just go straight to the things they want and don't have a look around to see what else is there.

 

by moving things around, the user now has to go searching for something and in doing so likely finds something new that they wouldn't normally see.

 

same sort of principle used in a regular store, they move stuff around so that you have to search for what you actually wanted and  you have to go past a whole heap of other stuff and hopefully impulse buy as well as buy what you actually came in for.

I wonder how many sellers who complain about falling sales figures etc ever google something like The Psychology of Selling or similar to get some ideas?
