why items can be removed & re listed & removed again with suspect bidding on item

Why can items be listed, run half there auction with bidds on then be removed. Then like magic be relisted have have mutli bidds on the item then have them retracted all by the same bidder then the item is pulled again off Ebay. 

Is there any protection or control by Ebay.

Contact Ebay & they say there is no problem????????

It was a Gt  mountain bike, I had a bidder place 6 bidds on item to find my max then they were able to have all six bids retracted by Ebay  then Item was removed again from site after 8 days on again. Reading on Forum people starting to question how true some items are being bidd on , possible that many using ghost bidd's to push up item prices???????

Yes, that is really annoying when that happens. Six bids and then retracted straight after they took the lead, exposing your highest bid.

Obviously not a genuine bidder. Whether they were working in with the seller or just a trouble maker it is hard to say, but it is strange that an item would be removed, put on again, removed etc

I suppose it comes down to the fact that a seller needs to list at the price they are genuinely happy enough to have the item sell for and not a cent lower. That way things will work out for them even if there is only one bid.

With the mountain bike you're talking about though, I would not bid on it again. Or if you really feel you must, do it right towards the end of the auction, in the last 10 seconds.
