Why do so many unfinished tapestries, cross stitch kits and long stitch kits have the threads started with a knot? The instructions clearly state not to use a knot to start a thread as it makes bumps when the item is framed. Also in some of the above the other end of the thread is just left instead of being threaded through some of the last stitches worked. Most instructions have a drawing of how to start and end each thread.

Because they are not enthusiasts like most that do the craft and don't care about the right or wrong way it is done.
As a craft addict I would never put knots on xstitch or tapestries.
