have you tried Suncorp, Wilma?
When my daughter had a brush with the Brisbane floods last year I think she said they were the only ones paying out and paying promptly

Couldn't get a quote from Suncorp, they are not issueing any new policies until the weather settles or some such thing. Sounds a bit strange but there are a few Companies that won't give a quote for that reason.

Yes that is strange Wilma. Totally out of character for an Insurance Co to knock back TAKING money from people B-)

That must be so annoying Wilma. You will find the right type of insurance, just keep at it.
Not a lot of good quality vintage egg cups around this year, I ended up buying Hannah a Gempo Koala from the 70's, it is the newest one I have purchased but it was very cute. Next year I will be looking for 2,
Wilma, at some stage, I will make you another quilt, will ask what colours you want before I do it.

Thank you Miss Linda, there are so many things that have been lost, it is hard to remember them all. It is just when you think that you will go look for it that you remember that it was down lowish in the house and no doubt went under. Your lovely quilt had pride of place on the foot of the guest room bed, we no longer have the bed, doona, sheets, pillows etc so I guess I no longer have my quilt. Dammnation it was my favourite set too, long stemmed red roses on a cream background, went really well with the quilt, darn another missing treasure.

Miss Linda, do you remember a card you sent me for my birthday, it had a Wilma Witch button and a moon and stars on a black background, well it didn't get lost, I have it in the shed with me, look at it frequently and remember the lovely people who gave it to me. thank you for the memory.

Wilma, I felt like you do when we got robbed one time. "I'll go and get something, oh, rats! It got taken." One thing that really got my goat was I'd bought a lovely set of sheets for our bed and the baskets took ONE pillow case. I could never replace it as it was in a set. Made me SO angry.
How nice though that you have some things that survived to remind you of the good things in life. :-x

That is nice Wilma, you do realise it is the little things that can affect you the most. Fire is the reason I have no pics of me when I was small, well, I have 4 actually, gleaned from other rellies, back in the 50's, not everyone had a camera.

Oh,
I can relate to that one!
When I migrated to Australia I Packed up everything I couldn't bear to leave behind, and the shipping warehouse was firebombed by an arsonist the day after my trunks got there. :_|
I still remember things that were in there, but all the photos and a 3/4 finished double bed quilt were the worst!
I have to keep telling myself stuff doesn't really matter and it's people that count, but stuff does matter, just a little bit.

Delphiniumdell I know it's sad, my Mum just got on with life and acquired new treasures. I still have a couple of burnt books, her favourites, and my youngest has a photo with the corner burnt off, framed. Mum thought that was cool.
