I'm really sorry to hear that Wilma and Neil have been flooded, but thank God they are safe, and their little dog, too.
(((((Big Hugs))))) to everybody affected when you get the chance to read this.

Thanks for the update Hynes, much appreciated but sad it's not better news for Neil & Wilma. :_|
Glad to hear those monstrous trees on your place stayed up. We're bracing for the wind to hit shortly, I hate wind as it's so destructive.
Yes, ((((Big Hugs)))) to all affected from me too. :-x

Thanks Hynsie, I feared Wilma and Neil would be in trouble, but, at least they are safe....and little Jesse too. To all you folk up there, I hope you all stay safe and dry.

Hi every-one, so sorry to hear Wilneil's house was flooded, but great news that both of them and their little dog are safe.
Hopefully they were able to save things like photo's. Have been thinking of them both.
The water came so close the night before last, Apple did not get much sleep as he had to keep hopping up to check our horses were both safe. It was a little higher than the last big floods so the horses don't have much dry ground left. We both had our birthdays yesterday so our birthday dinner was cooked on a small portable gas stove as the power had gone out.
The worst thing here is the smell of the flood waters.
Good Luck with your op today Mon, hope all goes well.
Thanks for the update Hynes on Wilneil and yes those winds were scary.
Leonie and Apple.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Mon :-x and hope you are back to being able to use both hands very soon. Take it easy and don't overdo anything. It's your turn to be waited on. :^O
Well we have gone from the sublime to the ridiculous weather-wise !! After all that wind & wet with approx 335mm since Thursday night in our rain gauge, we woke to a day that was sunny, very still and very humid at 32ยบ. Rivers are still rising, so many roads will remain impassable for quite a while and many are damaged. Local shops have power back too. Our water tank & dam are in overflow and the grass has greened up.
I count my blessings โฅโฅ
Spoke with Wilma this morning. ๐ ๐ :_|
The house and nearly everything inside including their 2 cars has gone under. She said they woke to voices outside & "SPLOSH" ankle deep water & mud through the house and one very nervous "small dog". Apparently couldn't get through to the SES, rang a friend who turned up quickly with mates in a boat to ferry them out with what they could carry. They did manage to get their own boat out of the shed and pack it with SOME things, ie computer gear, Neil's arsenal ( WARNING TO LOOTERS !! HE WILL USE IT ) but essentially didn't get time to do too much. She put her Mum's wooden canteen of cutlery on top of the dining table, their leather lounges on the bed, grabbed the contents of the safe, some clothes, necessary medications and waded out. When they left the water had risen to just under the dining table.
Wilma is in good spirits considering........ already called Insurance Co and now waiting for water to recede ( whenever that will be?? ) so assessment of claim can be done - that is IF they are able to claim? Not sure yet.
She is MAJORLY peeeeed off that her new oven had hardly been used and - as she said with a chuckle - " what a way to get a new bathroom and kitchen !! " :^O

That's terrible! Poor things. What happened to all the glass? I hope it's OK.
If you talk to them again, can you please give them all our love. :-x

Hi everyone. I survived the surgery!! Still waiting for the 'local' to wear off sometime overnight. I feel like I have someone else's arm attached as it has no feeling at all and I can't move my fingers. Very weird. ๐
So sorry to hear of Wilma's woes. :_|:_|:_| I hope the glass isn't damaged and just needs a good wash. I also hope they have somewhere to stay while it all gets replaced. Tell her to let us know if there is anything we can do for her and Neil.
