I, among 31 other buyers have been sold a countefeit 1938 crown coin. I do not lknow if any of thesepeople are aware they did buy a fake.
the coin is a plated or painted silver over brass, and weighs 10.28% ligher than it should.
He is operating through two different accounts, with the same fakes as we speak.

Is no body taking responsibility?
This is also going on with the 1934/35 centenary florin at the moiment.
Please Ebay, do not be an accomplice! Protect your costumers by not allowing such a thing!
The people who need to take responsibility are the buyers. How would eBay know whether the coins are genuine or not? Are you suggesting eBay spend many millions of dollars per year employing staff to vet every listing uploaded to the site? The only place that money would come from is increased fees for sellers. Who wouldn't wear it for long. At which point eBay goes bust. Problem solved.
Caveat emptor always applies. That means buyers taking responsibility for their own decisions, doing at least a modicum of due diligence and not expecting eBay to be their nanny.

Isn't there a statute of limitations on such things? How long is it?

Very few legitimate dealers would have FIFTEEN genuine 1938 crowns for sale.
I have been selling for over 25 years and I have only got a couple listed at present on ebay.
Only buy rare coins from recognized dealers and be prepared to pay a realistic price.
