Need help with bangle

Hi all, once again I need your help with this bangle. It's a vintage estate piece and the lady would be in her late 70's or 80's. She had a fondness for expensive accessories etc but I have no idea what the value of this is. I've tried googling to no avail.

I have no information about it and I haven't tried to clean it up as I don't want to damage it. The white inserts are (I'm fairly sure) mother of pearl.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance for your time. IMG_3610.jpegIMG_3609.jpegIMG_3608.jpeg

Thanks jelly. Sorry to be dumb, but I don't know what bakelite is. I have heard of it though. I'll have to research.

Thank you for trying to help me. I really do appreciate it.

Bakelite was a very early form of plastic, dating to the early 1900's. It became very popular in jewellery in the 1930's and 1940's.

Some pieces are really valuable today.

There are simple tests you can do to see if it is Bakelite.

Not sure Jelly - Bakelite usually ' stands alone ' - not as a ' coating ' .

I 'm not sure I'd be testing to see if it is using a polish - it could scratch if enamel.

Yeah, I know Bakelite isn't a coating - it's possible that those black pieces are moulded Bakelite single pieces which have been joined to the colourful parts and everything is held with glue or by the metal framework.

Whatever it is, it's a gorgeous piece.

We could ask PNC when it's going to be listed and fight it out. 😂

I'm hesitating because I have no idea how much to put on it. And I'm selling it for a friend so need to get it right. I'm a bit scared.

Many thanks for trying to help, but I'm leaning more towards MOP as its whiter & has a beautiful lustre.  And the orange is more orange.  If only people would leave notes with their lovely things! 🙂

I agree - bone does not have the lustre of MOP.

Which in the pics shows.
