Yep, 10am?  OH said today we can go. ๐Ÿ™‚

Siddie, what cabinet is yours at SAC?  Do you have a pic of it?  We've been customers there for about 10 years and it's always a great place to spend an hour or two, especially if a coffee is involved. ๐Ÿ˜‰

A picture of it? That would be a bit professional, wouldn't it? It is commonly known as Shop 48 (not telling, but that MAY have something to do with the year we were born!) There is also a small sign that says "Twentieth Century" but only because that is what Alan Carter decided to call us - for some reason  we had literally dozens of entries in his 2011 guide.

We have been there for about 9 years; it is strictly a hobby for us (we are addicted to auctions) and most weeks we struggle to make rent. Probably one day they will swap us for someone who can make more money for them, but the owners are very nice people and we will stay for as long as they are happy to have us.

I am sure it great coffee, but we don't drink coffee, and honestly have never been in the cafe. But it is very popular, and who knows, while the patrons are using our toilet, they may see something they like in our cabinet (which is cannily located quite close to same.) ๐Ÿ™‚

lakeland I don't doubt you but I am curious as to what JH2 refers to?? Not the name on the sticker or Braemore. It does not seem to be initals for candle sticks and I love trying to work things out.

Diana made beautyflora candle sticks that look the same and used to same satin glazes. But they used B and numbers for the mould or U and numbers and some times both just to confuse things.

siddies, I guess you must be opposite Tony ? Or at least close by.

I'm like you and no coffee drinker and never been to the cafe either but I am happy that Mon enjoys it so much. Kim and Michael have been my friends for many years too and turn up some good dealers and interesting pieces in there. I just don't get out much as I work seven days a week until hols come along...like now

Hi All, I was inspired today to go and have a look at the local oppies by all the great finds already and came across these, all tourist ware. Koala (Canberra) is Hebb but are the cats (Jenolan caves) and kangaroo (Healesville) Japanese? Cheers Billy

Yep, the girls have the big double cabinet of English china and figurines etc sort of opposite Tony, and we have the single cabinet next to them further towards the back.

You wouldn't need to check it very often as we don't sell much, and we are badly lazy about changing stock over. Although I did put some unsold eBay pieces in when I shut my "store" for holidays late Nov; I know we must have sold a couple of things but won't be checking until late Jan.

January is sport for us; we are at the Sydney Test this week, and then go down to Melbourne for the Tennis. I love January. ๐Ÿ™‚

OMG! I can't believe what turned up in little old Fremantle. A stash of original, vintage bordering on antique DMC Soie de perse (Persian Silk) embroidery skeins, PLUS silk sewing thread. It's magnificent.
